I don't drive my truck a great deal but since I installed the 91 Octane tune up, my truck shift cycles at 40MPH under light throttle. Several of the shifts seem to flare and the truck as of right now is not much fun to drive. This is not a slam 5 Star thread but trying to understand why my new truck exhibits issues that others are not. I have put about 1K miles on it since I installed the tuner but I can't continue with it like this. The truck has no issues when the stock tune up is installed.

I have been traveling for work but I will also be contacting 5 Star to let them know what the issue is. No other mods to this truck as far as engine but I do have 35 Wildpeaks on it.

Ask Mike to send you another tune. have you tried another tune than the "91" from 5Star?

you should have at least three (3) tunes from Mike...

Let us know what Mike says?

Good luck

I sent 5 Star a detailed e-mail with what the issue is. I have used the 89 Octane tune up also. I may try the 89 octane tune up again today but the 91 should not have these issues. I am not a big fan of changing tune ups since the trans has to adapt to each torque change.

I'm not quite sure I understand what is going on. I had an issue with one of my tunes also. Call Mike, he'll get you taken care of.

completely agree. So did you have any issues with the 89 tune? Did you run it long enough where you feel the truck was able to "adapt" to the tune?

Either way You should not have the problems you describe with any of your tunes and give Mike a chance to work it out.

I have been speaking with 5 Star via e-mail but haven't really got an answer yet other than a new flash file to re-enable torque management. I will keep working on the issue.

Yea, I've been sending mike the same email over and over to help me with tunes I bought from him and have gotten zero responses. Hopefully, you have more luck than I have.

I recently bought tunes from 5 Star (haven't installed yet). When I went to load them onto the tuner, the tunes had the wrong serial numbers. I emailed them on sat afternoon, and within 5 minutes they sent me updated tunes. Looking forward to getting them installed in the truck.

After you change a tune how many miles do you have to drive before you can get the truck inspected? I tried this weekend and the tech told me he was getting incomplete data on four areas of the test
