4L installed incorrectly and breaking transmissions on 2021/2022?

My buddy has a 2022 Raptor. He put it in 4L, put it in drive, and it 'ripped up his transmission' and he was unable to drive it at all. The local dealer here picked it up, and apparently there are 4 more raptors in that dealer alone with the same problem. I'm located in Park City, UT

I haven't put my 2021 in 4L yet, and frankly am afraid to at this point, but wondered if anyone else had heard of this?
