These look great! Is there any difference in light output with the regular reflectors vs the black ones?

Even overall output? I would assume the reflectors would help a little bit...

Well, to think of it, the reflector is just that -- it reflects the light that is bounced back from the bulb. This light is not bounced backwards, so the reflector holds no purpose. If it did with this mod, I'd definitely take the reflector NOT being blacked out.

I understand. But I just assume that the lights or anything for that matter will be 100%. Therefore any light that is bounced back within the housing would be reflected by the reflectors.

Swoops exactly right, the stock reflector has no use. The projector has its own reflector, in the pic the chrome section is the reflector, thats where the bulb sits. You can look inside and see the shape of it, thats what gives the beam its pattern. You can also see the curved black cutoff shield thats connected to a solenoid which flips it down for high beams.

Something else to note - projectors are always installed with the cutoff shield on the bottom. The lens reverses the image, putting the cut off on the top in the projected light.

Here is the level adjustment -

clockwise to lower, counter to raise

Thanks for posting this, I need to bring mine up a bit. Is it the same for each light or is it reversed on one side?

Sorry for any confusion from my last post. It was getting late...
One suggestion you might want to consider is to update the original post for people just finding the thread. I think they would be very interested in seeing the black reflectors mounted as well as a couple of the output shots right off the bat. You really did a good job of showing just how awesome these lights are with the angles you chose.
