Say Yes to PPF

I am getting my raptor whole front end car with the 3m paint protection wrap heard really good things about it. Anyone have it on their raptor that can advise.

You're on the right track wanting to protect your Raptor paint. Doing the full front end is highly recommended but another common area we see Raptor owners protect are the rocker panels, including a piece behind the rear wheel. This will help from all the side impacts that the tires tend to throw up.

I have expel on all my vehicles, love it, regardless of the make its a protective sacrificial wrap, it can always be redone

Thank you for the XPEL love!

Yup! I was quoted $5500 for the whole truck. I'm probably going to start with the roof, hood, front panels, bumper, lights.

That is a very good deal for a vehicle that size. Be sure to ask for wrapped edges for a cleaner install. They won't be able to wrap everything, but anywhere they can, a quality installer will.

I have Suntek on my mustang. I believe Suntek and Xpel > 3M. 3M will start to yellow sooner than the other 2.

Wow…3M yellows easily??? All film manufacturers are on “version quite a few” and things have improved over the years!

Keep in mind that 3M started the whole business of paint protection film a decade before most of us have ever heard about it. People just bought what they needed and applied it to the front of their own cars.

I put 3M on my truck and kind of feel like maybe a gigantic company worth billions might be able to have a few talented engineers working for them.

I've read my reply and I still can't find where I wrote easily? Stupid me, always including words that are invisible. Anyways, my installer does all 3 and he showed me that 3M started yellowing. Not easily, not tomorrow but that it started before the others.
Just cause someone started something doesn't mean they do it the best.
Sorry if I offended you. Not my intentions.

I’m not offended and I don’t have a stake in 3M! My installer does both (Xpel & 3M) and kicked me over to 3M for a reason. I’m not going to bash any product because paint protection film is great in my opinion no matter who you go with!

You can't go wrong with either 3. I was told that 3M does make the best color wrap material.

If you going to use the truck off-road its a no brainer even if it was $10K. My XPEL Ultimate has saved my finish multiple times every year. One run and itpays for itself. This past weekend in Nevada we had to turn back twice due to some impassable conditions. The truck looked like it was toast by Sunday. Quick wash and some time in the sun and you can barley make out a few areas with scratches in the vinyl which may go away with some more time.

I went to several installers before getting mine done and not a single one recommended 3M

I have xpel stealth and love everything about it minus the factor I had to go back to the installer a few times for touch-ups where certain corners started to lift slightly. I believe that was a combination of angle and installation process. No big deal, they said they will replace the entire section if im not happy with the touch-ups.
The maintenance free of PPF is outstanding other than detail spraying and occasional washes vs multi step detailing process and stressing over scratches is money well spent. IMO
