37's Pros & Cons?

The Original Poster listed all the mods he would need for tall tires. If I went to tall tires I would also want new gear ratios, fenders, liners, tires and wheels, paint for the fenders, etc. I personally think tall tires are a waste and I personally would rather spend the dollars on suspension. But I guess I'm stupid.

There's a lot of people running 37's without fenders. You can also run stock liners with Fiberwerx Fenders as I was. You don't need gears, depending on the 37 it will fit in the spare location or you could just strap it down in the bed, if you didn't already have a bed rack. Let's not forget you can get money back from selling your stock wheels and tires if for some reason you're still running them. Nobody needs a new driveshaft.

One ride in a truck with 37s over the same terrain in 35s will make it pretty clear why it's worth it. The extra rolling diameter helps in so many situations. But what do I know, I don't drive my truck hard at all.

I have the 37x12.50x17 BFG TA KO's on mid-perch with stock wheels. No other mods needed, this tire on the factory wheel also fits perfectly under the truck.

Now if you choose to modify everything else, then great. But not necessary if your truck is a daily driver with some light four wheeling on weekends. Which, let's face it, is the majority of Raptor drivers.
For the guys who off road hard....awesome! Long travel suspensions, 'glass fenders and re-gearing are a necessity.

I have made the decision to go 37"s. I have glassworks fenders coming, Fox 3.0's, and waiting on the tires to be released from BFG. A bit of money, but I was going 3.0's and then going to upgrade to a true 35" tire, so really the only extra cost is fenders. I'll take the pros over the cons any day. However, I plan to swap back to 315/70R17 DuraTracs for the winter time, so I'm not even considering a gear swap.
