I picked up my MY22 on 5/21 ... I drove 3K miles in these 3 weeks and here is what I feel so far -
801A, 35, CF, Moonroof, wheels, Black and Black; ordered on 10/11/21, production completed on 3/10, delivered on 5/18 and I picked her up on 5/21
Pros:
1. Exterior looks beautiful. I have noticed some people look at it in awe.
2. This is my first truck. So I was a little nervous about the size, but the turns and the handling on the road are really good. I didn't feel any sort of discomfort driving it around ... actually it feels awesome.
3. MPG isn't too bad. I have a BMW 550 ... so mpg is comparable to what I am used to at least for city driving
4. Seats are very comfortable
5. The sound of the engine on the initial start and in the initial gears in Sport mode ... I love it.
Cons:
1. Interiors are very cheap & plasticky ... for the $s Ford is charging, they should do a better job. Some of the interiors feel worse than a Tesla and I think Tesla's interiors are horrible.
2. Steering shakes a little bit at higher speeds but I don't know if that's how a truck rides. The tires were at 50 psi ... after bringing that down to 38psi, the shake has come down
3. Lane-keeping system is too rigid and gets annoying at times
4. Doesn't fit in the garage ... both height and length/width
My commute to work is 4 miles each way. So 80% of the miles I had driven is on the freeway and I took an 11-hour long drive almost non-stop and didn't feel any tiredness.
I used to average 14mpg in my daily commute to work ... but in one of my long drives, I was able to get ~ 22mpg driving at 65 - 70 mph. I think this is Raptor's sweet spot if you want to get the best mpg. The attached pic shows 721 miles range on a full tank after that drive. But I don't think I will ever get that kind of range again.
I waited for almost 8 months since I placed the order, but the wait is well worth it. I love this vehicle and I will be a Raptorian forever
