Hey I wonder if the 3.0 fox or icons can be blown if you load your truck bed too often with atv mx or towing a utv.
I have a friend who has a 2010 supercab 5.4 raptor and he blew the rear stocks suspensions carrying an atv on the truck bed.
Don't know if that will be the case with 3.0 suspension on the truck.

I'm surprised he blew the rear stock shocks, given the valving is fairly open compared to aftermarket shocks.

I would say any upgraded shock will likely be an improvement, due to the larger piston. However, if he's loading it up to where there's enough force to blow his stock shocks, even with aftermarket shocks I'd be most worried about the shock mounts at that point!

The nice thing with aftermarket shocks, is that he could dial up the compression a few clicks when he's loaded, to prevent it from bottoming as easy. With the ICON's being adjustable by hand, it would be REALLY easy. The other's would just need an alan wrench for a quick adjustment.

Either way, I'm sure he'd be better off if he's hauling an ATV all the time. Was he off road, and bouncing the back end a bunch???

Yes, I have seen people here using the raptor loaded with the suspension full compressed one with a goose neck and my friend carrying an 4x4 atv and towing a utv at the same time, I saw the rear suspension almost fully compressed,

I highly doubt that's what blew his shocks. Not saying its not possible, but highly unlikely. the f-150 is supposed to be able to haul some 1500 pound plus. ATv doesnt weigh that much.

Well the raptor that I have been is from my father so he doesn't use the truck bed too much just when we go fishing a big cooler spearguns and couple stuff doesn't make the suspension get them almost fully compressed and whenever I go to the trails I go with my brother's f250 with fabtech shocks at the rear.

Hmm. As extreme as you and your friends are down there, I think I have solution to your problem. It's a 6x6 flat bed. And you'll never have to worry about saggin this ones wagon unless you find something over its factory rated 120,000 lbs suspension. That'll get you guys anywhere you want to take your stuff and have fun getting there too.

I haul motorcycles all the time and have yet to blow out the shocks. Plenty of guys haul 500+ lbs in the bed and off road with no problems at all. You'll be fine with stock shocks or any aftermarket 3.0 hauling a quad around.

You can always add a leaf pack to help with carrying large amounts of weight. Your shocks should be fine carrying a quad around unless your out trying to get air borne and hit large whoop sections.

Ford Raptor - Icon 3.0 Coilover Shock Testing - YouTube

This was during our testing of the new ICON 3.0's... we helped out a stranded biker, and loaded his bike into my truck along with ALL my other gear! Had to be 1000lbs. Then we resumed the powerline road towards Barstow, and to be honest we were still hauling ass like Gary said, with him behind me (most likely shaking his head) haha.

Yes, aftermarket shocks may help, but no I don't think him hauling that would have caused them to blow out that easily.
