2nd USB off back of Nav Screen- 2014 Screw

As the title implies, I have a 2014 with MFT. When installing the lockpick today, I saw that there is an additional USB mini plug on the back of the Screen. The SD card cable(?) is plugged into the other. I know there are two USB's in the console, but I would like to add and additional so we can have an External Drive, and both cell phones hooked up.

1) Will running a cable off this input turn something else off?
2) Is this input even live?

It's live and it's just extra. One of the more common applications for people that have gained access to it is to connect a cable to it and run the other end to the inside of the glove box for charging items inside the glove box.

i have a 160gb usb drive in my glove box connected to that port. it comes up as usb disk 5

I would assume nothing more than a USB cable from the back of the nav unit to the device. And also small hands since everything behind the dash of this truck likes to cut you.

For the 2012 I believe you needed a mini male usb to a regular female usb cord.

So looking for confirmation as to what specific product is needed.

Yep, that's what you need... same for a 2013+.
