We're still hearing Q2, possibly Q3, for the Ford Performance tune/tuner for the 2024.

Whipple did just release their tuner but the downside is it writes over the OEM file and does not save it. You're not able to remove the tune and/or reinstall the OEM tune once it's been installed. Not ideal for some.

The JB4 is a piggyback module that's adjustable. Map 1 or Map 2 is a nice bump in power. Keep in mind, this does not touch nor modify the transmission/shift points. It's just a bump in HP/TQ. If you're running aftermarket performance parts, have access to 93+ fuel, etc, then Map 3. Having gone to Burger Motorsports HQ in Simi Valley, California to meet with them, dyno runs show up to ~100HP/~120TQ for the higher end maps (ie 5, 6, 7). Estimates are are about half of that for the lower maps and again, the better the fuel you have access to, the better the results.

JB4 Map Guide

  • Map0: Fully disable JB4
  • Map1: +3.5psi peak over stock, default map, 91+ octane
  • Map2: +3.5psi peak, less top end taper, more aggressive version of map1
  • Map3: +4psi peak, suggested for 93+ octane and/or modified trucks
  • Map4: Low boost VALET map
  • Map5: +6psi peak, suggested for 30% E85 mixtures and/or unleaded race fuel
  • Map6: Custom tuning map user adjustable
  • Map7: +7psi peak racing map for unleaded race fuel
Another benefit to the JB4 is that it can be stacked with the FP tune/tuner. We have a number of folks that have done this with the 2021-2023 trucks. Burger is also great with customer support.

I believe he meant there may be a FP tune for 24+ within the next few months. It's been over 2 years since the 23+'s came out and am not holding much hope that the ECU's will be cracked. Not sold yet either on paying $700 for what essentially seems to be a transmission tune (that should have come from the factory that way), that credible reports I've seen indicate it permanently flags your VIN in Oasis for warranty, including my 8yr/100k ESP.

I agree with the "why and the hell didn't you do it in the first place" camp. Amazing to see the consumer mindset change over the years. Back when I was a pup, this never would have been...The oval admitting their engines aren't "tuned" right coming off the line. Another $700 just to tune it correctly. Kind of like how Amazon makes you a stock boy these day where you unbox, assemble and then discard your own merchandise.

Welcome to the world under the thumb of corporations.

Aint that some shit, you buy a Ford branded tune and it flags your vehicle for warranty issues...

I know. I had posted somewhere earlier in this thread a post I found on a ranger or bronco forum where somebody had screenshots posted from his service person that he knew well. It was highlighted in yellow lol.

Warranties are outdated in this day and age. I feel like a sucker for getting the extended...only did cause my wife made me. LOL. What can I say. She's not that good in math.
