For me, I originally wanted 37PP Avalanche (so, 2024). I broke out Autotrader and looked at new, gray 37’s in a 300 mile area.
I have no trades (already sold my 2024 Raptor to Carvana)…paying cash…so, super simple transaction. I found a dozen discounted New 2024’s in Avalanche…and worked a few dealers against each other (Over the internet…and made a good deal).
Then changed my mind and decided I would give Space White a whirl as I randomly saw a 2021 in a hotel parking lot.
Saw that the my local dealer that I bought/sold several cars from/to in the past 12 months had a Space White 37 being built. I told them I would buy it for $500 under invoice (just like my last Raptor)…they spoke to the owner and about 3 minutes later we had a deal. I had them send it all to me in writing and sent them a $5,000 deposit.
I don’t know if you have a trade (that can complicate internet deals)….but there are tons of discounted Raptors in the Midwest…they are not difficult to find. Additionally, you can search for and view the Facebook page on non-markup dealers/trucks. I don’t have Facebook…but I can scroll through and look.
Again, for me, I don’t step foot in a dealership. I usually won’t give them my cell. On their onsite forms I put in my email and the 111-222-3333 for the phone number. I deal with all of them strictly over email unless I like someone. I am respectful to them but this is simply a transaction for what I consider a commodity (same truck, same color, built by Ford) that I can execute at 100 different places. Email, for me, is the best way to remove all of the typical tactics of a dealer/sales person.
Again, if you are willing to visit the beautiful Midwest, it’s not hard to find a discounted Raptor.
