I don't think this will happen. The CEO said he wants to lean into off-road performance and make Ford the Porsche of off-road. I'm guessing the Raptor brand will be a big part of that.
Hopefully the Porsche of the off road world doesn't mean the raptor starts at 80K and comes with zero options....then getting it fully loaded costs 130K lol

I'm pretty sure that is exactly what that means. The '27 801a will probably come optioned like a base XL with a $85k starting price, but you can option everything down to the wheel center caps and seat belt colors just like Porsche.

It just seems like they are specifically trying to "de raptor" the raptor. It probably started with the removal of the Torsen diff. Then the red strip, no more raptor on the key fob...side steps... I wouldn't be surprised if they sanitize more of the infotainment from specific raptor images.
I think it's just cost cutting. Every change saves them money. The red stripe was a warranty nightmare. The Torsen was costly. The key fob is another part number to buy, stock, and track. The side steps can now be shared with the Tremor. Every single one saves money. Ford is cutting every possible corner. I haven't looked at their financials, but the failure of the Lightning might have put them in a corner where they have to fight for survival. I wouldn't be surprised to see gen 4 pushed out a year or two for the same reason.

Would be a fun game to bet on what will be the next thing to go missing in the 2026 MY. I would say AUX switches, but those are in the superdutys too. Raptor at the base of the steering wheel perhaps?

Id rather have the red stripe than the key pad. I've never used it in gen 2/3. I don't even know the password for either truck. Everyone has a different hill to die on with features....its fascinating. Id also never ever leave my keys in my truck.
I'm just the opposite. I've never taken the fob out of my truck. Just use the keypad to lock and unlock it.
