2024 Raptor Quality issues

You do know that
1) FRF is a minuscule subset of Raptor buyers
2) FRF is an internet forum where people love to complain. Repeatedly, and few people post “hey, nothing bad happened today"
3) Observational ‘evidence’ can be wildly skewed, particularly if it’s on a topic you’re affected by.
4) it’s not different than previous years - did you see the ’21 comments?

Is there really fire underneath the smoke?
There certainly was with with the “clunk” and channeling my inner @cfmistry here, there sure seem to be a bunch of ‘charging’ related issues in the later model Raps. There was definitely fire for the 2017 - 2018 plastic oil pan and cam phasers, and Jen Juan Fuse 27, and rusty quarter panels.

Maybe 2024 QC is up to *****, maybe it’s not. But this thread doesn’t tell us much about that either way.

Generally people that join forums are more observant of quality type of issues. Most people focus on does the car/truck get me from point A to point B and only have concerns when something major affects their vehicle or a recall is pushed out (including raptor owners outside of FRF).

Now of course issues will not affect every single unit, but unfortunately for ford over the last 3 years they lead the way in recalls. I actually just saw recently that ford currently leads the way in recalls for 2024. I would say overall this does indicate Ford is still lacking in quality as a whole (not just Raptors).

Fortunately for me my issues are not mechanical, but annoying nonetheless. I do not regret my Raptor purchase, but my dealer has had my truck for 2 days now for "simple" trim fixes.

In fact I know all of those points and I still feel like there are more complaints about the '24s (in 3 months) than previous years. Of course there's no evidence, they're barely on the road and there's a 7-page thread about QC issues. I will let this go, I don't own one and I'm not shopping for one so it really makes zero difference to me. Why do you care so much?

because this is how rumors start. And to be clear, I’m not dismissing your concerns out of hand, I simply asked if you had additional data, which you clarified. That’s not to say the data isn’t there, but let’s keep it at: it’s unsubstantiated right now. Maybe it will be borne out or maybe it’s just perception because people keep piling on the thread but not actually having a 2024 issue or problem, thus creating the false impression that 2024 trucks - HOLY COW, 7 pages of problems! when maybe there are only 4 unique issues.

Do your really think Ford would say the issues they become aware of? Recalls are more to cover themselves but they will never (not just Ford any company) publicly say oh yeah we had all this other quality issues (nor will they publicly document unless it is an actual recall). Heck nobody knows what QC issue resulted in delaying the 2024 F150s and unless that info is leaked we will never know.

I just pickup my truck not happy with the outcome, but while there they actually brought out the service director. He noted it is crazy what the are seeing on brand new Fords. Not everyday does the service department admit at how many issues/recalls they have to deal with due to Fords lack off QC/QA. He order trim and we will go from there for my case.

Ford is all talk when they say they will focus on better quality according to the service people they have been hearing this since 3 years ago.

I traded in my ‘17 a couple of weeks ago for a new ‘24, my anecdotal experience is there is a definite drop off in some of the materials. The steering wheel feels like cheaper leather, lack of led lighting around the console, no leather boot on the very plastic shifter… All of these can be marked up to supply chain issues and post pandemic manufacturing quality , a problem across all industries.
The electronics and technology is great, love the wireless car play. The new rear suspension is awesome.
My real gripe is the headlight situation. The driver side low beam has not functioned since day one, I only noticed the evening after I took delivery. The dealer tried changing the module, no luck. Then Ford sent them a new program last week that was guaranteed to work….not so much. Now waiting on a complete new headlight and module assembly from Ford. Two other new Raptors are also affected at the same dealer. This should have been caught at least three times, at the factory, upon arrival at the dealership and lastly at the PDI. Three failures of QC .
