I had my 2023 Raptor (18k miles) in the shop (oil change and some minor warranty work) and mentioned if there was any kind of TSB or PCM update for the transmission we have all experienced with the clunk when downshifting at lower speeds.
Folks here have reported that the new Ford Performance tune is worth it just because of the transmission update and how snappy and smooth the tranny has become.
Well, when I picked my truck up I was reading the tech's notes and it appears there is a PCM update available. It was downloaded and I can attest that my truck definitely feels better now.
From the tech:
"perform auto trans diagnostic, no codes. perform road test and pid monitor, found all pids reading ok. Check for TSBS and SSMS, none available. Check for PCM update, found update available. Reprogram PCM. Perform adaptive learn. Retest. Test drive 8 miles. Verify transmission is operating correctly at this time."
I'll have to drive it a bit more to really see if it got totally rid of the "clunk", but so far so good!
