That was my understanding. The article I read stated that the differential lockup was now controled by the electronic braking system. Is this correct?
The only places I have seen it definitively stated that brake lock is taking the place of the torsen is the press for the raptor R. The context was always that the raptor R had too much power for the torsen to handle and ford had to engineer an alternative method replicating the torsen behavior for enhanced control during desert/loose surface running at speed. However, nowhere was any of that referenced around the std raptor. So while logical that because ford removed the torsen from the ecoboost trucks they also applied the same new brake lock software from the R, I have not seen any direct confirmation.

Since December 13 and nobody has taken the truck off road to get opposing wheels off the ground to see if your diff’s are open or working like the torsen?

This is where I got my initial impressions as well. It would make since following the principles of "economy of scale" however, it isn't unheard of to be screwed by an accounting ledger.

For electronic braking to be the new system, would't we need wheel speed sensors on both front wheels? I'll roll under the truck tonight and see if both wheels have the sensors

All 4 wheels have sensors; it’s required for 4 channel ABS, which came out in the early 2000’s.

Wow, the GM Chevy and GMC trucks now have the front locker in the ZR2 and ATX4 trims. Maybe that is a consideration. LOL, JK... Seriously, I am still on some of the GM Truck groups since I have owned both a Chevy and GMC, if they find out about this there will be no end to it. The GM guys always have had Raptor envy...
