2023 - R Button Stopped Working

Just hit this on my 24. 1500 miles. Plan to do a reset later.... wondering if this is an OTA thing as well. Noticed a change in my displays that must have been an OTA then bam R stops working. Drove it this AM before said OTA and it was working fine. Can i file a bug report somewhere? Experienced SW QA guy here and would love to help

Just a heads up on another way to troubleshoot this. Mine (2024) stopped working out of the blue like others. I did not receive any type of OTA update so not sure what was the root cause. Instead of disconnecting battery, I tried a step I was instructed to use when I installed a piggyback tuner on my 2019. I opened the hood (not sure if this step would be needed), locked the doors and distanced my key fob far enough to allow the truck to electronically sleep (5 or more minutes). Next morning when I started it the R button worked.

I should also note that before trying the steps above I powered off the Raptor several times the day it quit working. It even sat for over 5 hours and the R button functionality was still nonfunctional. That's when I tried the above steps and the R button has worked ever since. I can't say with certainty if the above works because I've not had the opportunity to attempt to resolve the R button issue again. I felt trying these steps was less intrusive then removing the negative battery terminal (I did not want to reprogram/save settings).

I have a 2023, the R button has stopped working probably around 8 times in the 16 months & 32k miles that I have had it. It doesn't work for a day or two, then it starts working again. If you have enough patience, and don't feel like disconnecting your battery, it will probably start working on it's own again without intervention.

My R button stopped working yesterday on my 24 and hasn’t worked through multiple start stop drive cycles… I also got a message on my Ford app the night before that remote services were unavailable because of a low battery? But no issues or popups when I started the truck yesterday morning, just the R button not working..,

My entire system resets after it does an OTA. I have to reprogram the R button and the quiet start. Don't know why and really not worth the effort to take it to a dealer and ask the question. Hopefully yours starts working again soon.

Does anyone know if Ford has come up for a real fix for this issue? Mine settled down for 3 months but is now back again and after 3 days the Raptor mode still does not work.

One individual said it required a reset of the GWM but I do not know how to do that rather than continually disconnecting the battery

This has been going in for about 2 years for various owners and Ford needs to step up with a fix.

My 23 did this for the first time tonight, i went out of town for 4 days and left my truck at airport... i got a message on the app while i was out of town saying it was going to disable remote features to save battery, and it did just that, i couldn't see location, nothing, got back to the airport, car started up fine but the R button didn't work, even changed drive modes, i always hit it twice soon as i get in the truck... i wish there was a way to disable that battery saver mode nag that seems to come on when it sits for a couple days...
