Driving today in the left lane of a divided highway when a plastic crate comes over the barrier from oncoming traffic and as the title says, I hit it. I was expecting much more damage than what I ended up with but it still sucks. You can still see a piece of the yellow crate wedged in the top right corner.

I haven't seen any great guidance on removing this grill so if anyone knows of a tutorial or has done it yourself, I'd appreciate it. My preference is to buy one myself and put it on vs going through insurance.

Thanks

I know your pain; I fed a hawk to my gen2 at about 70 mph and did $2300 worth of damage to my truck/grille. I went the insurance route as I have a zero deductible for “acts of god”.

I had my buddy who owns an auto body shop order the new grille and I put it on myself. Not terrible but tedious and not something you want to rush through. Youtube University helped me complete the task.

That’s it?
Take the grille out, cut some more slots out with a reciprocating saw, dremel and a file. mount some LED bars in there and call it a day.

You say battle wound, I say opportunity.

This is exactly the location for the B/D S8 behind the grille kit on the Jen Too. it’s already broke, what do you have to lose?

BD S8 is around $850 for a 30" bar. The grill will be way more than that. This is a reasonable fix. Great idea Smurf.
