I actually liked the sound I heard in the TFL video of the new truck. I'll readily admit the sound on the Gen 2's suck, but I don't buy the idea that a 6 cylinder engine isn't capable of great sound. Just listen to any Porsche. Maybe Ford got it right this time?

Just listen to a GT. Same motor. Great sounds are possible.

If you guys owned a dealership and could order in Raptors for sale- what percentage of V8 vs V6 would you order?

Keep in mind you will make more money on the V8 Raptor and you will sell every V8 Raptor you can order.

The end is in sight for the V6 powered Raptors.

Not only do I not agree with you OP, I’m also curious as to how you came to the conclusion that a truck that was just teased yesterday is already a bust.

Like all of you I was so excited. Metallica Sandman Had to cost ford a pretty penny that they shinned up and try to sell it as gold. I love my 2018 and it is better than the 2012, it just doesn't sound better. With the let down of no V8 and my drives door not shutting I'm putting a down payment on a Tesla Cybertruck! Something about being able to do 0-60 in 2.5sec. gaping every truck and most super cars while mooning them from the back seat sounds exciting.

The V8 will not be as easy to get, and I doubt they'll be able to sell V8s with the higher price and crappy MPG at the same rate that they sell Gen2s currently. You're letting your love for V8 blind you if you think V6 Raptors are going away.

More than half of the posters on here are actually haters. They also cannot come close to affording a Raptor.

The new Gen 3 is beautiful and has had a lot of top tier work done to it. The suspension is revolutionary.

Once the Raptor R hits, these same posters will be either

A. in hiding
B. Saying how they love it.

EricM is a *******. Best to ignore him like RapTerrd.

I'm tempted to make a calendar reminder in a few years for us all to come back and make fun of this particular claim, but honestly he's not worth our time. But then again I do love winning arguments, especially easy ones.

I'm in the camp that the exterior looks would need to grow on me. I like my Gen2 tailgate way more and the front end is just "meh". I do really like the big side markers and the grill ambers though. I think once there are aftermarket bumpers for the gen3 the looks will be a lot better.

I'm a little on the fence about jumping ship from my '19 to a gen3 but the 5 link rear, 37's, and the interior update along with the available 2kw generator are extremely tempting...

While the V8 would be awesome I'd rather have the range and I'd personally be shooting for more of a pre-lander setup. When you romp around with these trucks in the dirt mileage already dips pretty hard. Sure you can get 500 miles on the street but in the dirt its going to be more like 350-400 or less. Now compare that to say the TRX which barely gets 300 on the street you're probably looking at 150-200 miles which is squat. I'd rather be able to go play in the dirt and make it back without having to worry as much about the closest gas station or carrying a boat load of extra jerry cans to make it out.

This.

The V8s sound like a great idea, until the customer looks at the window sticker and sees 10/14 MPG with the accompanying gas guzzler tax.

With gas prices only going up, I doubt you’ll see that many takers at $3-4 a gallon. Remember, those are premium gallons, so have fun with that in California.

If Ford debuted the Ecoboost in 2008, they would’ve had buyers lined up outside the dealer showroom floor.

The guy is delusional. The only way V6 Raptors go away is because the ICE is going away. Which it is. He's so wrong that he ends up right in the end. Too funny.
