Hey Guys

Just picked up my 20' magnetic raptor from the dealership Wednesday. Super excited and can't wait to add to it.

I wanted to order some fog lights during this Black Friday sale. Hoping someone can help advise me through some of these confusing sites. Im a total rookie when it comes to this stuff. I don't want to rush into anything when it comes to my mods but I also don't want to pass up on some black Friday sales lol

I wanted the fog lights to be amber in color to match the oem front lights.

https://specialtyperformanceparts.c...nce-fog-amber-led-fog-light-kit-incl-brackets

I saw these online, are they a good purchase? Can they be wired to the same front end lights when you click the unlock button instead of an auxiliary?

The flip bracket only flips the rigid logo?

Difference in lens covers?

Which radiance would you suggest?

Thanks, sorry for the boat load of questions

So what you are referring to are the Rigid Radiance Lights (available here: https://www.4x4truckleds.com/2017-ford-raptor-triple-fog-light-kit-w-rigid-industries-radiance/)

Are they good? Short answer, yes and no. So yes, they look good with the amber back light and they will give you some light output. But no, they don't have a very good pattern. It's not something you'd want to use on public roads nor will it give a LOT of light off-roading. The Radiance Pods are mainly for looks. You CAN upgrade them to the Scenes (which we offer). That gives you a bump up in terms of output now.

We have full stock on these and our kits include our own brackets that we make here on Long Island out of staniless steel. The reverse brackets allow the lights to hang right-side up. As normally they are installed upside down (hanging) so the brackets flip them around.

If you want the best bang for your buck, check out the Baja Designs kits. You don't get that back-lighting but you DO GET some REALLY terrific lights. You get 3 different patterns in the kit so you can pick/choose which lights you have on at any given point in time. Much better for use on road and off-road

A good start kit is the Sportsmen Kit, as it's very inexpensive and gives you terrific lights (with a lot more output over the Radiance): https://www.4x4truckleds.com/vehicl...2017-2018-f-150-raptor/triple-fog-light-kits/

Our kits all include our mounting brackets (that we make), 3 pairs of lights and our wiring harness.

I'd also say to go with Baja Designs because on top of our instant savings you also get $150 back via a mail in rebate from Baja. So you REALLY save cash.

Our Radiance kit is on sale for $519 but if you bought the Sportsmen Kit from Baja, it's $639 and you get $150 back. So that's $489 you are paying at the end of the day.

Shoot me a message if you need help. We've got some amazing Black Friday deals on our site

Can they be wired to the same front end lights when you click the unlock button instead of an auxiliary?

I'm not aware of any harness/kit that could accomplish this. You could probably cut some wires and get it done, but you probably would run into some issues. Besides, when the aux switch is toggled on, doing a remote start will turn aux switch connected lights on (lights off when you turn off). Perhaps I'm the exception (I doubt it), but 95% of the time I'm doing a remote start rather than a remote unlock.

If they are hooked to auxiliary1 ... does the switch stay on at all times to keep the light engaged when it is supposed to?

If the aux is engaged does it turn off automatically and turn on automatically with remote start or unlock? Assuming it shuts off when the truck engine button is stopped. The button can stay flicked up at all times?

The AUX switches only function when the vehicle ignition is on (whether the engine is running or not).

Regarding your original question about the Radiance lights, they're a great budget friendly option and have the cool aesthetics of the amber backlight. But their output, leaves a lot to be desired at only 900 lumens. While the Radiance Scene lights do boast a higher lumen output and are brighter, these lights are not meant to be a driving light. The Radiance Scene is an area light, great for reverse or lighting up a camp site, but their optics do not properly project for driving at speed.

We've got a number of options here at Apollo Optics. Feel free to send me a PM and we can discuss your needs and get you dialed in on your truck.

Contact Adam at www.4x4truckleds.com - I bought the Baja Designs (BD) triple squadron set up last Black Friday (2019). Adam is very knowledgeable and responsive. I highly recommend BD and 4x4 Truck LEDs!

That's our store link, and yes they are good, but just like the Raptor comes in an 800A, 801A and 802A Equipment Group, so do the lights.

So, the Radiance have an Amber Backlight and White Fog Light and produce 900 Lumens Each.

20200-v_6.2923.jpg

The Scene version is essentially the same light with more LED's producing 2,970 Lumens Each.
(the stock photos are digitally dr'd to display the amber. There isn't a circle in the standard radiance. The only visual difference is the center LED's)

68204-RadiancePod_Scene_Angle_Amber_Pair.jpg

Then there are the 360 Series Round that produce 3,050 Lumens each also with the Amber Backlight.

36118-360-Series_4_Drive_Amber_Backlight_2.jpg

So that is the key difference if you like the Amber Backlight.

We actually have Black Friday-Cyber Monday sales on those and others all weekend through Monday.

Here is a link-

There is also more to fog kits than just the lights. Many carry the same brand lights, but the kits and hardware can vary. While others claim many things about the brackets and hardware they use, I can visually show you in this video how ours differ so you can draw your own conclusions and get what you like -

And I can also visually show you in this video how Our Harnesses are top notch as well for all your applications-

As for lights in general. Be it Baja Designs, or Rigid, both are great.

So again, the key is, if you like the look, and the specs meet your requirements, your in good shape.

While there are certainly different features and levels with these lights, rest assured... Rigid and Baja Designs are the best quality there is and they both come with a lifetime warranty.

Again, I like to present facts and real time comparisons, not hearsay, so here are a few links that may shed some light on some questions you have in comparing them.

First, here is a video with Radiance & Scene side by side -

Here is a video of the 360's and Rear SRL Lights -

Here is a video of The Baja S2, Rigid SRL, and Square Pods for the rear side by side -

Here is a video comparing Baja Pods to the Rigid Pods in the Pro Series side by side in a Raptor -

https://youtu.be/zw1w6fjo_Ic

And Here are a few links to some past threads -

This shows Rigid Lights, but represents all the basic light patterns of the fog lights from Rigid and Baja.... It is intended as a good education piece.... (The Light Explaination is the second post in the thread)

Can’t go wrong with Rigid. I prefer the Radiance Scene over the original Radiance. It is worth the upgrade in output if your budget allows.

The Rigid Radiance series will absolutely compliment your amber marker lights. Will look great too. Make it happen. Sounds like Specialtyperformanceparts can get you dialed in.

Anywho, what ever route you go. Post a picture up. Would love to check it out.

Unfortunately, you do have to be careful with advice from ANY vendor when it comes to "What's better" because there will always be a bit of bias.

Sounds to me like if any vendor, other then yourself, gives any advice the end-user needs to be wary of what we say? I guess the advice we give here at 4x4TruckLEDs.com (and Nick at Apoolo), are just so we can all make a quick buck and we don't care about our customers? We're out to just sell sell sell whatever we can get our hands on? We only give biased opinions and our companies don't live/breath lighting?

I have the six light radiance set up on my truck they are brighter than the headlights that’s for sure I bought the radiance lights because I can drive with them all the time and nobody will give me the high beam flash back at me because they are not as bright as the radiant scene lights which I did not want I also have my main light set up an auxiliary one in the back light set up on auxiliary six so I only want to run with the back lights with the cruising lights I have control of that myself using the switches my only problem is turning off the cruising lights when I shut the car off to get out because those won’t go off by themselves lol
