Ok, so who really needs 'more' out of this truck? It's already faster than most on street, including some hi priced sports cars. I get you want the sound, so either sell your raptor, or make a recording and integrate into the audio system.

Wait, Ford already has it! It's in the Mustang!

This setup is ideal with the trans setup to keep in power band. and with a tune, you won't need to think about another motor. I bet most of the people talking about getting the V8 have never experienced the Gen 2 in dirt.. it's absolutely perfect. more torque/HP avail quick and with less effort than most V8's now.

Stock is dog slow

the statement "who really needs more"? is an ignorant question.

Ok, so the next question is where do you get more power from for the Gen 3 Raptor?? What happens when the king-of-the-hill factory truck aka the Gen 2 F150 Raptor gets passed up on power (ie.. the TRX)? Can the Ecoboost, or a version of it put out enough power with similar reliability to stay ahead?

Screw power, I miss the V8 rumble, although I still love my '18 Raptor...

Do people on this forum really think the Hellcat put a huge dent in Porche's sales just because the Hellcat has more horsepower?

Even if the TRX has a V8 with more horsepower, the Raptor will still be the king of offroad trucks. I have little doubt the TRX will offroad as well as the Hellcat corners.

That said, no doubt there are a large number of Raptor owners who only bought it because it looks cool and they will be won over by the TRX's body kit and HP numbers. But there is plenty of room for two very different trucks in this space. Ford has nothing to prove and doesn't need to compete with the TRX. They will be very different trucks.

You have little doubt huh? Really? Who the hell do think makes Jeep and the Power Wagon. Ford doesn't need to compete :lol2: that's the sort of arrogance that will lose market share.

The v8 raptor is a thing of the past, unfortunately. Ford will never discard the eco boost v6 turbo.

Do you mean just in the F150 / GT?
Does Ford offer the 3.5 ecoboost in anything else today?
Also, Ford has some big announcement coming very soon on the Ford GT. I am not sure what it will be, but I would bet it has some different power train.

Y’all can keep your V6’s.
In 20 years let’s compare 6.2L SVT value vs Ecoboost.
If ford makes a 7.2 SVT I’d sell my Gen1 for it.

With the performance they are getting now in the GT I highly doubt you are going to be seeing anything anytime soon.

Right.. this is why we both got the tune!! LOL.. well, you got yours from them from a summer santa..

Now all we need is a big speaker underneath to blare out the mustang noise..:burnout:
or to activate it through our stereo like the stangs.o_O

Asking a question nobody can answer is slightly less useful than using a banana as a shovel. The TRX isn't out, neither is the Gen 3 raptor. Know one knows what power plant is going to be in there, not even people on this forum who "know people" so whatever you think will happen is as valid as anyone else. It could be an identical EB, it could be a more powerful EB, it could be a V8, it could be a hybrid it could be full electric. Heck we don't even know if there will be another 2 year hiatus between the last Gen 2 and the first Gen 3.
