I don’t get it don’t they plan on timing and when they can get their clearance ahead of time from the NHA..?

Just makes no sense to me to crank all these trucks out then have them sit until they get cleared.
How can they clear them if they're not built?

Yeah, FP hasn't been helpful outside of giving me my new "delayed again" build date. They can be rude at times too. Last time I chatted with them, I asked if the rep had any information on why builds were being delayed. His response was, "Look buddy, I'm just telling you what's on my screen."

Oh, and they're closed tomorrow. You'll have to wait until Tuesday. But waiting seems to be something we're all getting very used to, lol.
If they're not telling you, it's either something not allowed to be disclosed or they simply don't know. Just by reading this thread, it's easy to see how many calls they must get over and over by the same people with some of them challenging what the rep is telling them. Easy to see how they could become a bit rude. Until OK to buy, people are just wasting their time calling.

They probably are working out of the same system the dealer is, which is pretty limited -- So my bet is they simply don't know. The only time I got something more than a build week/day update was when one rep said he asked one of the other guys about the vehicle tracker, and got some (incorrect) info from him.

But you're right, it's a lot of people constantly hitting them up for the same info. I'm sure it gets monotonous. That's why I try to limit my contact to once a week. Otherwise, I feel like I'm wasting my time and theirs.

Tying Ford's bond rating to the number of Raptors that are waiting to ship is a bit of a stretch, no offense. Their issues of late largely lie overseas, though they have witnessed profit margins erode stateside. (Hence cutting the low-margin cars out of their lineup in the coming years) But I'd wager that selling more XLTs will net them more profit than more Raptors, for a variety of reasons.

Suffice it to say, I doubt Moody's or S&P are going to reevaluate Ford's bond rating because they start shipping a couple thousand trucks.

Though I hope they do ship ASAP, because I'm in the same boat as every other member of this forum waiting on a '19 to arrive.
I understand that the numbers are really large. But having 2,000 (number quoted here to be able to clear and ship) times dealer average cost of $ 50,000 is somewhere around 100 million dollars. Even for Ford that has to be important. At even 3% carrying cost, that is over $ 8,000 a day.

Nothing unusual about this. Same thing happens with all models the beginning of each model year. Most times OK to buy is achieved in the first 5 days and the vehicles roll out. Sometimes (like now) it takes longer. That suggests quality isn't up to ***** and it's in nobody's best interest to ship products with potential flaws and could put Ford in a bad position if those flaws caused accidents.

That's just typical inventory though. True, the Raptors are largely customer orders, but the rest of the F150s sitting are a blend. And as others have noted, this is the byproduct of a new model year.

If assembly was completely shuttered, Ford would notice. But as long as trucks roll off, their bottom line is met.

Ultimately, every truck that's being built will be purchased and the final purchase price will be unaffected by the ok to buy taking longer than usual (it seems).

And to be honest, no.... I don't think Ford cares about $8,000/day. That's much cheaper than a large scale recall.
