Don’t be surprised... This has been the usual general complaint from everyone and from every year that the Raptor has been built since 2010!! I also placed an order for a 2012 model in August 2011 in New Jersey.. put down a $500 deposit, and was originally told by dealer 8 weeks!! By week 12, I was fed up... called many folks at SVT (now Ford Performance) and got the same story!! Got so fed up that I cancelled my order, got my deposit back and then searched using the site www.pickuptrucks.com and found a beautiful 2011 Molten Orange Scab in Hartford, CT which I kept for 5 1/2 years, then when I was ready to upgrade to Gen2, used the same site to find my current 2017 in Manchester, NH... the meaning of my experience is that ordering new vehicles from Ford is not the same as if you were ordering a BMW, where the order experience in itself is great and the communication (timely updates from their website and dealer) are second to none.. this is the one area where Ford and their dealer network need to step up!!I spoke to my dealer today. Initially their response was, "Delays are uncommon, but do happen". When I provided the timeline they were surprised. They said four delays is pretty unheard of, and that bumping it all the way back to a February delivery is concerning. Had it been a parts shortage, it would have been a single delay and not multiples in succession.
I'm told I'll hear something from the regional rep on Wednesday, but if it's more of the same I'm canceling the order with the possible intent to resubmit in early 2019. Though I may consider something else entirely, because frankly, the customer experience has been terrible. For the amount of money I'm spending, I could walk into an Audi dealership for a Q8 and have a MUCH better level of service.
As I explained to my dealer, I wouldn't have cared too much whether the order was built in October (as initially estimated) or February. My frustration is the lack of communication. I get parts shortages happen, line issues happen, delivery delays happen. But simply saying, "Oh, you're 2.5 months back from your original date... Bye" as the only update is simply unacceptable. I'm not buying a stock Focus SE; I'm buying the flagship trim of your most profitable vehicle. Act like I matter, please.
Ok, I'm done venting.
