I spoke to my dealer today. Initially their response was, "Delays are uncommon, but do happen". When I provided the timeline they were surprised. They said four delays is pretty unheard of, and that bumping it all the way back to a February delivery is concerning. Had it been a parts shortage, it would have been a single delay and not multiples in succession.

I'm told I'll hear something from the regional rep on Wednesday, but if it's more of the same I'm canceling the order with the possible intent to resubmit in early 2019. Though I may consider something else entirely, because frankly, the customer experience has been terrible. For the amount of money I'm spending, I could walk into an Audi dealership for a Q8 and have a MUCH better level of service.

As I explained to my dealer, I wouldn't have cared too much whether the order was built in October (as initially estimated) or February. My frustration is the lack of communication. I get parts shortages happen, line issues happen, delivery delays happen. But simply saying, "Oh, you're 2.5 months back from your original date... Bye" as the only update is simply unacceptable. I'm not buying a stock Focus SE; I'm buying the flagship trim of your most profitable vehicle. Act like I matter, please.

Ok, I'm done venting.
Don’t be surprised... This has been the usual general complaint from everyone and from every year that the Raptor has been built since 2010!! I also placed an order for a 2012 model in August 2011 in New Jersey.. put down a $500 deposit, and was originally told by dealer 8 weeks!! By week 12, I was fed up... called many folks at SVT (now Ford Performance) and got the same story!! Got so fed up that I cancelled my order, got my deposit back and then searched using the site www.pickuptrucks.com and found a beautiful 2011 Molten Orange Scab in Hartford, CT which I kept for 5 1/2 years, then when I was ready to upgrade to Gen2, used the same site to find my current 2017 in Manchester, NH... the meaning of my experience is that ordering new vehicles from Ford is not the same as if you were ordering a BMW, where the order experience in itself is great and the communication (timely updates from their website and dealer) are second to none.. this is the one area where Ford and their dealer network need to step up!!

Well at the very least that was a understandable vent. I hope things work out for you,and in my case it’s isolated. I’m Scheduled for a November 20 build and I believe a December 16 Delivery. The two times I’ve called Ford they have told me this. I’m wondering if it’s a dealer issue? I’m not sure if you have maybe I need to read your post again, but I would talk to Ford Performance and ask them when your order was processed. Mine was processed 8/28. Good luck . I can only imagine the frustration

Thanks for understanding my vent, ha. My order was accepted the day scheduling opened (09/22 iirc), which is when I got my build week of 10/29 -- I was pretty excited about being in the first couple weeks. Next time I checked (I honestly can't recall how soon after it was, maybe a few days), I was pushed back to 11/05. I wasn't too bothered, since it was only a week. But since then it's pretty much been kicking the can down the road.

I doubt it's a dealership thing; Once the order is submitted they're out of the picture until the vehicle is delivered, and they definitely had an allocation as I was immediately scheduled. I'm only asking them to step in now because I obviously can't contact the regional rep myself.

Exactly my point. I can order a $3 spark plug from amazon (did last night) and receive better/more communication than I can purchasing an $80,000 performance vehicle.

And I will reassert that I'm not nearly as frustrated about the delays as I am the experience. Which, as it happens, is the easiest problem the solve. I don't need the dealership pageantry that BMW, Audi, or any of the other luxury brands offer. After all, I'm buying a pickup truck for a reason. But the "you'll get your truck you when get it" approach is asinine.

Did you have issues with your VIN from the beginning?

For those of us who ordered the 17's and waited 4 months to take delivery we know your pain. I actually was in Dearborn visiting the in laws and took the rouge plant tour and saw raptors being built along with several in the holding lot ( ramp 59). Ordered in July and finally took delivery in January. Patience

I ordered mine as soon as the order banks opened at the end of July 2016. Took a while before my order got scheduled. After getting built it sat at Ramp 59 for 6 weeks before getting shipped. Took delivery 1/20/17
