It’s estimated that 45% of California drivers are uninsured. Thank you illegal aliens.

Hey, that's racist!!! It's true, but still racist!!! OP, sorry your truck got whacked, but it looks like it's a good thing it got hit or your sitter would have been calling you to tell you some ******* just parked his car in your living room!

Fixing Raptors is expensive. A Jeep with a big spare tire backed into my 19 and cracked the hood paint and pushed the fender back a little. No headlight damage or bumper damage (after market). It is going to be repaired in a couple of weeks for $ 4,300.00. Good luck!

Looking at the pic, it appears welding area cracked....damn. Underinsured motorist policy should cover the difference.

I'm no expert, but I wouldn't call that a slam dunk in terms of getting it totaled. If the frame was bent between the wheelbase, there would be a much better chance of it being totaled out. In this case, most or all of the frame damage appears to be in front of the suspension which wouldn't be under the umbrella of "it'll never ride the same again"

Sorry this has happened. Thankfully neither you or any of your loved ones were hurt physically. Best advice I can give you is go see a lawyer. In case the a-hole that did this was drunk and or rich (hopefully insured) and or a repeat offender or criminal type an attorney will help you get all you are entitled to. Good luck and hopefully you'll get a new truck out of this.

8500 for the frame repair.
1200 for the fender
1500 for the hood
3000 for the suspension
1000 radiator
350 CAC
2000 headlight
800 grill
150 flare
1000 bumper
and we're at $16K already in frame repair and basic parts.

and we haven't gotten to labor ( other than the frame repair), core support, electrical, paint or any of the small miscellaneous. and you're hoping that the turbo, motor, transmission, tcase, brakes, etc are untouched and usable.

I call 30K for the repair, and quite easily.

then if you tack on some diminished value compensation, it's gonna be realllllllly damn close to 60-65% of the vehicle value.

it will honestly depend on the insurance company's threshold policy for total loss. It will be close. real close.
