Glad to hear that your ok! How is the other driver and what was it that hit you? how bad was their ride damaged? Honestly I would do as Smurfslayer and others have said, go to the best body/collision center that you can find. I would put my money on the repair cost being well over $22k I have looked at prices of parts on Tasca`s site and its not a cheap fix, a complete SuperCab frame is $6700 and you can get just the front section for $3767. Steel bumper complete end to end is $1500 upper and lower control arm $600,the grill is at $500, Skid pan and attaching parts are around $1200, fender in primer is $500, $1100 for the headlight and on and on. If they were to change the cab both the front and rear glass would have to be changed, I don't know if you could reuse your old ones, rear glass alone without siding center or motor is $500 and the windshield is $350. Maybe I am blind but I could not find a firewall or complete cab price.Glad you’re ok. The bent frame isn’t a car/truck death sentence it used to be. The Rap frame is in sections that can be replaced.
For this kind of hit, I’m probably going to be a little more careful about choosing a shop. I want a craftsman doing the work, someone who sweats the details and leans strongly toward perfectionism. If the insurance company balks - tough $hit. body shop says this is what it needs to repair the vehicle to return it to the proper and safe condition. I want it right, and right /= cheap.
The nickel and dime stuff will add up fast
Since is was not your fault the other driver's insurance company is on the hook for paying the bill, but I know here in NJ that my own insurance company can get involved and go after the other insurance company for more money or even pay some of the bill if the other driver is under insured. Every state is different and I would be concerned about your health also, I had developed so many more issues down the road health wise that I am glad I did not take their one time cash settlement for my injuries. I`m not saying to make up injuries but you would be surprised at how 2 months from now how things may bother you, from your wrists by hanging onto the steering wheel to the major things like whiplash and lower back issues. I ended up with a 5 level lumbar fusion after all was said and done and that was over a 18 year period and if I would have taken their one time $10,000.00 go away payment I would have to use my own health insurance and Im sure they would have dropped me or the premiums would be through the roof.
Plus it will never be the same, Like other forum members said you will notice things from creeks to rattles and always wonder if it was done right
