Guys,
A local dealer to me is selling a fairly loaded 2018 Raptor (everything but carbon and beadlocks) for 7100 off of MSRP. They verified price today. The 2019s are getting 2k off, and of course the MSRP is a little higher. The 2018 is leadfoot which is my color of choice, and really the only downside to it are the stickers as I don’t care for them. So I look at it as the 2018 is really about 5K off of MSRP since I would have ordered stickers. Is the 2019 worth the difference in cost? I know the shocks are better, but is there anything else I’m not thinking of. 64k plus TTL is pretty sweet on the 2018, so I’m having a hard time passing it up. What are your thoughts?

Just doing the math it is right at 5k difference for the 2019 without stickers versus the 2018 that I’m looking at.

You can't get Lead Foot for 19, so if that's your color, go for it. I don't think anything other than the shocks is different and depending on planned usage may not be worth the up charge. The decals may grow on you after a while. Adding hood decals might be the only thing I'd do if I had to do it over.

I actually do like the hood decals, it’s the rear decals that I don’t care for. Thank you for the input, it does seem like it’s a good deal.

You're at about the same price point I bought my '18 at back in January and aside from the decals which I didn't care for, it was a no-brainer to buy it over a '19 (they weren't discounted back in January at my dealer). A Leadfoot would have been awesome but Ruby Red was my only choice so I went with it.

The color and decals have grown on me so it's a win-win so far.

My thought process:

2018 benefits:
Leadfoot
Price
Wheels
No autonomous emergency braking
Can be had without some of the other tech pkg stuff that comes standard on the 2019 and which I didn't want.
If you get the stickers, I prefer the aesthetic of the 2018 stickers.

2019 benefits:
Shocks
Recaros available
More options in the gauge cluster
Current model year
Probably has other little improvements

Obviously, much of the above is personal preference. Given the above and the availability of the 2018s when I was ready to purchase (I bought around the MY crossover time), I went with a 2018.

2018 shocks are fully "mechanical" compared to the live-valve electronically controlled shocks in the 2019. I wonder if the introduction of electronics in the suspension would make moding the suspension more difficult/tedious? Might be the case that it's not an issue at all and you might not care to mod the shocks in the first place. The recaros are awesome though.

The hill climb feature of the 2019 is pretty awesome, but the suspension will be slightly more involved to modify now that the truck is looking for signals. If you plan to stay completely stock I’d have a hard time passing up the newer truck for that little difference in cost.

I went with a 2018 and pulled the graphics off about 15 minutes after I got to the house. The 2019’s weren’t available when I bought my truck though, so maybe not a fair comparison.

Any Raptor Assault attendees who have 2018's but drove 2019's at Raptor Assault? When I attended, the instructors said some guys who have 2018's are looking to unload them for 2019's. Is this a sales pitch by Raptor Assault? IDK, but all were impressed by the 2019 models.
