At any point. I only know of 2 dealers that do near invoice as policy. Some dealers, it depends on whether or not they are in a good mood when you walk in.

Please remember, Raptor availability is based on allotment. In other words, Mother Ford dictates how many Raptors a dealership can sell. So if a dealership is only allotted 5 Raptors every year than they will maximize their profit by selling them as high above MSRP as the market will support.

The two dealers near you that do that, are they big volume dealers on SVT products? It makes a lot of sense if certain dealers are allotted say 5 raptors a year. But, I wouldn't go to someone like that. The local dealer here is the number one dealer in Canada and he told me customers can come in and order a Raptor whenever they become available.

Yes. Your dealer is correct. You can order whatever you want, whether or not your dealer has an allotment is another story.

In other words, you can place an order for a Raptor but your order will not get submitted to Ford (order bank) until your dealer gets an allotment.

BTW, any Ford dealership can sell SVT products. Also, SVT is no longer. The SVT division now calls themselves Ford Performance.

Ya, SVT got absorbed by FP, but I kept reading SVT over and over in the forums, so I keep using it. Again, a dealer here who doesn't get FP products told me that there are FP dealers. Regardless, a high volume dealer can probably accomodate most customers who come in I guess as long you are willing to wait. But, then again that brings me to the question if near invoice will be impossible in Fall 2016, but perhaps more likely in a year or two after the launch. That is why I was hoping people who were the first to buy the current raptor, if they managed to get good pricing then.

Invoice is possible. You just have to know the right dealer. I am #1 on a wait list and I am getting it at invoice. Still debating whether or not to get rid of my 2013. :)

I think I'm going to wait for the second year. Remember when ford only had plans of making the raptor in supercab's and said it was going to be strictly a low production performance vehicle and making a 4 door was never in the original blueprint? Once people start complaining and journalist start writing reviews on why ford doesn't offer a V8 I'm sure ford is going to have a change of heart and they'll develop a V8 pushing close to 500hp. What's going to happen to the Ecoboost? I'm sure that will be the base engine for the raptor and the v8 to be the option. Ford has invested too much to drop the Ecoboost like they did to the 5.4. Better start saving your pennies because I'm sure ford is going to make you pay good money to get the V8 that 90% of the people on here scream for. Soon we'll have a war of owners claiming one is better than the other and raptor forum will split and you'll have a forum for Ecoboost owners and one for V8s [emoji28] #Raptordamus

Ya, that is also something that has me thinking in addition to getting a good price if buying early on. But, I am not really worried about a V8. I will sound like a heretic but, I would actually prefer a more efficient engine. My bimmer has that fake exhaust note and most times I can't tell and have gotten used to it. Body options aside, wasn't the most common complaint from journalists that the Raptor felt underpowered which is why Ford reacted with the 6.2L? The new lighter Raptor with 450 hp will not feel underpowered I would think. I mean if it has a 0-60 times in mid 5s or below. Under-powered likely won't be word used by most auto journalists. Even if Ford releases a V8 with 500 hp I won't sleep over that.

I'm not putting down the Ecoboost at all I'm sure it's going to be fast as hell and IF ford did make a V8 I'm sure the Eco will hold its own against it and probably be the quicker machine when in its all said and done. The 5.4 raptor was underpowered but ford knew all along that the 6.2 was going to be the engine of choice before the 5.4 even hit dealership floors. I can guarantee when CarandDriver writes its first test review on the 2017 raptor on the right side of the last page it will have its pros and cons like they put in every review and its going to say a lack of a V8 option, exhaust note or something along those lines. Ford doesn't need to make a V8 but for some reason I think they'll deliver. The Ecoboost is definitely the smarter decision with its high tech engine but I'm hoping ford gets bitten by the dodge bug and gets crazy and drops a high power V8 for the raptor (Highly doubt the 5.2 voodoo will make its way into a raptor.) People will be happy with the Ecoboost and it will offer more performance than the average joe needs and I'm sure ford is going to sell a ton of them but we all know if ford makes a V8 people will line up for it and will drop down whatever they ask for it. I don't think it would hurt Ecoboost sales if ford did add a v8 option as the Eco would be the first choice for practical reasons and would probably be hard for some people to justify to spend more for something that doesn't offer much of a difference in performance in the v8. That sentence kinda contradicts the whole idea of having a V8 option but it wouldn't be a dumb move to do and hopefully some accountants at ford understand my logic lol

I will definitely test drive a 17 when they come out and I waited until 2011 to get my 2010 and when I had first seen the 5.4's I didn't care that they were underpowered but instantly feel in love with them and even thought to myself of getting one. I was glad that I was patient as it paid off in the end. This next generation raptor is going to be a different situation as a lot of parts on this truck will be making their debut to the market. I'm sure going to be jealous seeing pictures and reading about all the good things that new owners will be experiencing with this new truck but I'll wait a year or two for peace of mind purposes. What color are you thinking of getting?

Correct me if Im wrong but didnt Ford say since the product is no longer an SVT vehicle there will be a larger quantity being built so they will be more accessible to the dealers? I know any dealer can sell SVT/FP products but I thought I heard somewhere in a Q&A video that the 2017 Raptor will be less exclusive this time around so everyone can get their hands on one easily? Ill try and find the video but I could also be completely wrong on this.

Ford will def have a superscrew. In the current gen, Screws account for 75% of the sales. If they only release a scab for 2017 then they will have no customers.

When did I say that ford wouldn't offer a screw for 2017? It was an example I used on how when the first year model came out that only the scab was available and once you had people complaining about no four doors that ford delivered.
