These are the engine options for the 2015 F-150.

Saw in Consumer reports , it will have 3 engine options 2 -v6 eccoboost and the 5.0 ... I think they shoulda threw a hopped up 5.0 instead of the 6.2 in the first place .... Or just wait for the ecco 5.0 with 750 hp in 2018 ... That motor is a gamer changer

The CAFE/EPA Window Sticker changes are minimal through 2021. 1.5 on the CAFE and 1 on the EPA Window Sticker for the trucks (like F150) so it's really not that. I think it's like MOGO said, it's all marketing. Ford has so much invested and they've talked up the EB so much, they've painted themselves in a corner on the EB. Still hope they find a way to sneak in a V8 option. Why not? It's still available in Ford products for crying out loud!!

I think everyone needs to give Ford a little more credit on their decision because they are the ones that built the Raptor in the first place so they know what will work. I dont think anyone will be disappointed with the HP and tq the EB will put out. If the exhaust note is THAT much of a big deal cut the damn exhaust off and voila, loud aggressive exhaust note.

Sorry , wrong magazine ... Motor Trend October 2015 ..... and it could be a misprint ... Even If the magazine is wrong Ford should at least give the 5.0 as an option . I could care less what they say about the eccoboost v6 ... I wouldnt own a full size truck with a v6 under the hood .... Ford must not take customers opinions very seriously I have read many posts from guys wanting the 2017 Raptor but not with a v6 ... most said they would wait for a v8 before they buy a new one ..... If we ever see the 5.0 ecco , I think it will take these trucks to a new level of performance , lots of HP and good MPG s make it very appealing ... if or when we see it ..

Yeah thats wrong, you get the 3.5 EB with 450+hp and thats it in the Raptor. We dont even know the final HP or TQ numbers from the new EB either since Ford hasnt released any hard numbers on the motor, suspension, or anything else.

They will not have a v8 in the gen 3 Raptors, they will have the twin turbo V6 (sound like crap and have crappy take off). I so had my heart set on this gen coming out, but looks like I'll have to get the Rubicon edition jeep truck coming out next fall too. way more offroad worthy and probably $20k less then a mall crawler Gen 3 Raptor.

I heard that the Gen 3 Raptor is going to use a straight five, like the Focus RS. Next gen Mustang will be a three cylinder base model with a four cylinder option. These motors will be badged as "Eco Plus."
