I don't see why they couldn't keep the 6.2 in a next gen Raptor. Is there any reason CAFE would have anything to do with it? Being there's such a small amount sold it would have minimal effect on their truck mpg. Now if they discontinue that motor that might be a different story but otherwise why not?

The 6.2 is an old boss platform motor. Just takin off the shelf. Can't meet cafe standards for emissions without major overhaul of the system

I read in another article 7000 but it makes more sense for 6000 series. Quite a bit of the F-16 for example is 6064 but in a T6 condition.

7000 series aluminum doesn't form well. It cracks. Then again 6000 series is just as bad

Looks like they added hard buttons for the heated seats, I know it's stupid but it always bugs me when I'm wearing gloves that I can't just hit a hard button real quick. I wasn't crazy about the new truck at first but I've looked at it quite a bit now and I've really started to like it. Love the tech, and the new features. Would have like to have seen a full four door super cab with a 6.5 bed like the new silverado has. A crew cab with a 6.5 just looks too long to me. Also looks like the FX4 isn't a trim line anymore and just an available added option now like it was in 97-03 models perhaps that's good news for a future raptor, maybe it'll be the future off road trim line

Yeah, looks like a Toyota; sure. Take off your hater goggles.

Looks like an F150 to me...

Not a fan...it's going to have to grow on me...def think the new interiors look good though... Especially the new king ranch... I had a 10 and think the new interior looks a lot better.

Was going to wait and get the 16 raptor instead of the 14 I ordered but with the CAFE regulations I did not see the 6.2 in the future. I understand that this is the future ( smaller engines in the 1/2 ton trucks) but not a fan.

Oh and yes tundra was the first thing I thought of when I saw it for the first time...especially looking at it front the front..after trolling around for a while I realized I was not the only one who thought this ....I'm sure the new body will grow on people to include myself

loved the Atlas concept but uncertain on the new design. Front end is a cross between a Ram and a Tundra, side profile still looks like a Ford. I need to see one in person before I make up my mind.

Not impossible. The 6.2L is currently only available on the Raptor and XLT for 2014. That being said, with CAFE standards, it's going to be more fuel efficient and the 6.2L just can't hack it.
.

You guys do understand what CAFE standards are right? It's for the FLEET average, not just an individual engine. So ford can have a gas sucking crappy mileage 6.2 and meet CAFE standards, as long as they sell enough fuel sipping economical engines that the fleet average meets the CAFE standards. So they very well could offer a 6.2 again if they return the Raptor, if they're selling enough of the V6's that their fleet average is higher than the CAFE standards.

100%---ever see what they do for copper wire??? Do the math--scum bags are just that. If there is a will there is a way. Mark this post and come back to it in 2 years.

I think your village is calling you, they even put a note in your avatar pic they've got a missing person...judging by your posts, I think it's you lol.
