It's better than the current F150 (talking looks only) but I'm most concerned about what the next gen Raptor powerplant would be (assuming one ever comes to fruition). Please don't give me some 2.7l engine. Just another big normally aspirated powerplant please.

Well here's your likely and unfortunate answer

Why were they calling that truck a 2015 and they mentioned it had aluminum panels instead of steal like the outgoing model.
Also is Ford trying to say they no longer need the Raptor for Baja, that the stock truck is fine.

I'm guessing 6.2L will live in in Raptor and super duty

Stress testing the 2.7L in baja is just to show how durable it is. Didn't they do the same thing with the 3.5L ecoboost?

I think it's unlikely for a 5.0 but I said 5.0 because from a production stand point, I can't see it being efficient for them to have one F150 with a 6.2. I'd like them to keep the 6.2 I just don't see it happening.
The 5.0 probably won't happen either and a 5.0EB would be godly but that's also unlikely. I'm betting a 3.5 EB and maybe a 6.2 if they keep it just because the raptor is a niche vehicle.

Not impossible. The 6.2L is currently only available on the Raptor and XLT for 2014. That being said, with CAFE standards, it's going to be more fuel efficient and the 6.2L just can't hack it.

Not necessarily; when the 3.5L Ecoboost first debuted, they put it in the Baja 1000 truck just to test durability as well as other torture tests. This was just a torture test. It is not necessarily the next-gen Raptor motor, just like how the 3.5L EB is not the current-gen Raptor motor.

Why were they calling that truck a 2015 and they mentioned it had aluminum panels instead of steal like the outgoing model.

It was an aluminum body (just like the 2015 model) stamped to look like the 2014 model with a 2.7L under the hood. It was a way to torture test the engine and body under the guise of it being a 2014 so as to not raise any suspicion.

I just thought about this as a case for the 14 model!! People will be waking up to find a skeleton of a truck on a 15!! The skin of the truck will be at the scrap yard!! People walk the side of the road for cans! There will be parts that can be removed easily by putting a chain on and pulling. Easy money for the thugs and scum---you know it is going to be a problem!!! Insurance rates will reflect it as well.
