Dual moon roofs look cool too, its like a glass ceiling.

Is it a dual moon roof or is that the "Appearance" you're seeing from the outside?

GM does that on some vehicles but on the inside you only get the front moonroof. The rear is covered by the headliner to hide all the supports and rail system to accomidate the larger front moonroof.

It's better than the current F150 (talking looks only) but I'm most concerned about what the next gen Raptor powerplant would be (assuming one ever comes to fruition). Please don't give me some 2.7l engine. Just another big normally aspirated powerplant please.

I agree motor trend sums it up nicely.
I'm betting the raptor is powered by a 3.5EB or a 5.0. I know we'd all like to see a raptor exclusive 5.0EB but there's just no way.

I have a hard time believing they'd keep the 6.2 in the raptor if the whole rest of the line doesn't have it. Doesn't make sense for efficiency in the production line. But I may be wrong, it is a specialty vehicle. But I think the 3.5EB in a raptor would for the most part do the job of the 6.2, combined with the savings

Gotta agree with Mac, it doesn't look that great, but neither does the current standard f-150 trim levels in my opinion, the raptor is the best looking truck on the market... ever, nothing that came before and most likely nothing that comes after will look better stock

yeah most people are comparing those base model and standard package press release photos, to old models of the SVT Raptor. You need to compare these new model pics to current model in base trims, which are nothing fancy and pretty boring looking, until they get the Raptor treatment....same case with the new truck. It's okay looking, nothing to drool over big time, but once they do an SVT treatment it would have a lot of potential.

Who told you there was no heated steering wheel?

man that alone may make me want to trade up for a new raptor if they come out with a gen 2 LOL! Always HATED how I don't have a heated wheel when I have all the other creature comforts!

Glad to see them put a real moon roof in it this time though, the pathetic little 1' by 2' panel they called a moon roof and charged over a grand for was pathetic. This one would actually be worth the money.

Those pics really do look 100x's better than the press release photos! Same with the 2015 mustang, the press release photos looked so-so, the real-in-person pics looked so much better.

Can't wait to see more! I'm not totally crazy about the body lines on the side, but the in-person pics aren't as bad. It's not as body/rigid looking as the current model, but that may be a good thing, step towards more curvy and flowing like the 97-03 body style. If they come out with a Gen 3 Lightning I'd be all over it in a heartbeat!

The Super Duty still uses the 6.2L as the gasser option correct? So there's still an economy of scale there. Or is Ford planning on sticking the ecoboost in their HD trucks too? LOL. I don't think the 5.0 makes the kind of power figures that they'd want in a heavy duty truck without revving the shit out of it and going to expensive internals.

I'm still holding out hope that the 6.2 comes back in 2016 for Gen II Raptor-specific applications. It's a long-shot daydream, but I'd like to see it come back with aluminum block, 4 valve heads, DOHC with Ford's cam timing, direct injection (the current aluminum heads already have the direct injection moldings built in), and displacement on demand/cylinder deactivation. Stick it in the Raptor and some other kind of performance vehicle as a halo engine.

Looks like 6 bolt wheels, hopefully they kept the same pattern so we can transfer our aftermarket wheels over.

I think it's unlikely for a 5.0 but I said 5.0 because from a production stand point, I can't see it being efficient for them to have one F150 with a 6.2. I'd like them to keep the 6.2 I just don't see it happening.
The 5.0 probably won't happen either and a 5.0EB would be godly but that's also unlikely. I'm betting a 3.5 EB and maybe a 6.2 if they keep it just because the raptor is a niche vehicle.

The more I look at the photos the more I like it, same thing for the new mustang. I think Ford is definitely headed in the right direction. Only time will tell for the Raptor, but I think it will be tough to beat the current design cues. Although the new interior and equipment looks great!
