as a owner of a 2013 I agree with the posts. It is a great system on paper, but in real life it just is littered with problems. Slow, Clunky, locks up almost daily. Ford has updated it a couple of times. I don't mind not have a DVD since I now have A/V inputs in the console. In regards to playing music, lots of good options there, USB memory stick or BlueTooth Stereo, which only works sometimes, or plugging in your iphone into the usb hub in the center console works well for me most of the time. I wish it wasn't so expensive to replace it.

The best scam is the screen they put whenever it locks up and has to re-boot... It's the restart screen with a progress bar, and it says "Performing Scheduled System Maintenance"

Really? Scheduled maintenance? In the middle of my drive through downtown San Francisco when I REALLY need this POS to work?!?

Haha. Fail.

I really appreciate all the posts and replies. I am so not looking forward to problems with the radio or the truck in general. My 2010 was flawless, inside and out. Not a stitch of issues or problems with anything; no clunking in the transmission, no radio or Nav issues, no stalling. Man, I am beginning to think I should have left well enough alone.

Bro don't worry about it

I love the system in my 2013. I've never had it do the normal system maintenance thing except immediately after tuning the truck with my 5star programmer. I also don't have an issue with responsiveness etc. Its functionally very nice and BlueSVT might just have an older version or shit luck with his.

Its not at the same level of refinement that BMW had in my M3 or my sister's X5d, but its certainly not a step backward from the '10-'12 setup.

Don't be discouraged at all. It is almost certainly a software issue and it will be resolved. Even with the erratic radio issues, due to Microsoft not Ford, it is 99.999999 % perfect.
I wouldn't change a thing, other than maybe go with a 3rd party entertainment system.

Thanks for the encouraging words. Hopefully, I will get a build date this week! My brother and I ordered the same week. His was built on 6/11. I am hoping this is my week to get some info!

Thanks, I am looking forward to getting the truck and hoping everything will work out! I am also looking forward to seeing the difference between my 2010 with the 5.4 and the 6.2. Should be interesting! Thanks again!

Yeah, not trying to scare you off from the truck... Maybe you'll have better luck. Seems some have good luck like Johnny, and others like myself have shit luck with it.

As others have said, I wouldn't really worry about it. The issues with MFT are mostly nitpicky at best. The interface is great and easy to navigate, but at times it can be quirky. For example... Once in awhile, if I try pushing buttons on the screen too soon after it boots up the interface will hang for a bit and not register anything. Almost like I overloaded the processor and it won't proceed till it's done "thinking" about it. Now I just wait till I'm backed out of the driveway and rolling down the road before I do anything.

I've also got a 2tb portable drive plugged into mine to store all my audio on. Once in awhile, and this is wierd/annoying, MFT simply won't recognize it as a supported drive. One time I'll start the the truck and within 10 seconds it'll be playing a track off from the drive where it left off when I turned the truck off. The next time it'll choke for about 20 seconds, start blaring AM radio at me, and then tell me the drive is not supported. If I simply wait another 30-40 seconds (at most) suddenly the drive is available again and working fine.

Again, nitpicky stuff... In the end it works fine... though I think the Sync lady has her "cycles" just like every other woman, and sooner or later you're just going to catch her in a mood. hahaha
