Yours doesn't have valves. There's is a servo attached to the column to assist in steering. Might be why you hit a dead end with yours

An interesting thing of note, I've had 2 older f150's and they too would clunk when the power steering fluid was overheated thus would foam up and eventually pop the cap. Not saying this is the cause or even your root of the problem, but just trying to add some insight or alternative theories from personal experience with similar symptoms, even with a much different steering rack set up

Just regurgitating what the "techs" at Ford said to me and what's out in the threads....

There is a separate clunk that comes with hard use. I agree with that I get it at dunes. Once it cools down it goes away,

I have since added an external ps fluid cooler but have yet to test it under those conditions.

The rest is just under daily use.

Hmmm didn't realize that was a wear joint. And there are no grease fittings on it either. How many miles on the truck?

12,000 miles when it began and progressively got worse.

Can we get a part number for that joint? Could be why my rack seems to fail after 200 miles every time it's replaced

I don't believe just the joint can be replaced. I think only the complete lower steering shaft that includes the joint. Part # BL3Z 3B676.

I personally think a steering shaft should last to 50k if not 100k miles without issues or being replaced. Ford should've beefed up the raptor steering components and not been cheap.
