I had my lines start leaking, which caused me to run low on fluid which was causing some horrible whining.

They swapped out all new lines, and put new fluid in and it has been fine ever since. Tech stated there was issues with the PS system and that they would all be fixed now with the new parts.

This can't be a common issue or ford would surely have fixed it. Raptors have been on the road for a few years now.

Seems pretty damn common to me if one of the biggest complaints on this site about raptors are PS related. Even to the point of the aftermarket coming up with "solutions", and ford putting out revised parts.

I've had just about my entire steering system rebuilt from the bottom to the top by Ford. My truck has been in the shop 3 times for the steering, yet mine had problems every time the temps dropped between -20 and -40F. Yeah, f'ing cold...have I mentioned how much I hate this state? First time the rack was leaking. Second time (two days after getting it back from the first trip) there was a "loose clamp" that dumped the fluid. Third time (just a week ago) a line was cracked and something about the reservoir. No word on if they ever replaced the pump, but betting they didn't. Biding my time for when that thing lets go from the multiple times it was running on empty and screaming like a banshee.

Have at you!

After my trip to Pismo Dunes Ford had to replaced my PS pump, reservoir, and the lines for it two weeks ago. They said it was a new design and that the old style had some issues. Next weekend I'm going back to Pismo and will drive the same way to test it out.

I just dropped it off, I'll post an update soon. I am going to suggest that they pay for and order an after market reservoir if air getting into the systen is what is causing the problem.

And mine is a 2013 and only three weeks old.

I have been informed by the dealer that it is in fact the steering rack causing the issue and it will take at least a week to have a new one sent up from the states. The ps pump is also shot so they'll be replacing that as well.

My power steering has quit on my first time off-road. (45k miles on the truck) My truck is out of warranty. Is there a recall? Can we call Fords attention to these threads to get answers about what they have done/are doing to remedy this design flaw?
