Lower control arm ball joint. Ripped right out. And that sucker is hard to replace but doable with a BFH and another pair of hands.

They make ball joint press tools that make it pretty much painless. But a big hammer works when its all you have.

Thanks rich. I was going too fast on unknown terrain and hit a washout on the passenger side about 1.5 feet deep. Ripped everything apart. At night.

Ya know, and something like that you never know. I can't say for sure that a reinforced knuckle could have helped you. That's a lot of force...something has got to give eventually.
