I have a tricky question that probably only someone at Ford engineering could possibly dig up an answer too. Dealerships seems to be really lost.

I have a 2010 6.2L Raptor with the 6R80 transmission and I need some new parts (specifically, the cooler lines). Ford made changes to the 6R80 between 2010 and 2011, and basically there are two models, the 2009-2010 6R80, and the 2011 and up 6R80. Given that my Raptor was sold as a 2010 SVT Raptor, I assume that I have a 2010 model 6R80. However, the build dates of the 2009-2010 6R80 are from 7-06-09 through 1-04-10, and my Raptor was built in March of 2010. In march of 2010, Ford had switched to the 2011 model 6R80 (as far as my dealership knows). Therefore I am being told to order parts for the 2011 6R80, even though I have a 2010 model year truck. The dealership is saying that according to my VIN, I need the parts from the 2011 6R80 that do not list the 2010 Raptor as compatible on their cite.

Does anyone have any idea what is going on here?

All I am trying to do is order new cooler lines that go from the trans to the trans cooler, because I've heard they fatigue crack after a while and I want to swap out the lines while I am doing other trans service (new filter, bulk head connector sleeve, and new pass though seal). Are all the cooler lines the same for all 6R80 models? The reason I am confused is because the 2011 cooler lines are like $50 more, so I was at first skeptical they were just trying to sell me a more expensive part, but I can kinda see where the confusion comes from. According to the dealer, the lines are not the same between model years and they will not guarantee fitment unless I order 2011 cooler lines for my 2010 Raptor

Or if anyone has a good aftermarket suggestion (anyone tried the doormans on Rockauto?) I will just order aftermarket so that the new ones don't crack.

Thanks.

The difference being 2011+ 10R80's are select shift so if your Raptor is not select shift it is more than likely a 2010 model 10R80. That is how I would look at it.

Is the part# BL3Z-7R081-C? That's the part number for the lines I just ordered through www.fordpartsgiant.com at $154 delivered.

Gen 1 Raptors (as well as regular F150 trucks built between 2010-2014) all came with the 6R80.

Correct on the 6R80 with select shift was not available on the early release Raptor with 6.2.
Pretty sure the 2010 Raptor 6R80 does not have a TCM and it is controlled through the ECU VS the later trucks that have it separated.

Looks like the TCM was standard for production dates from 2009-on 6r80's, at least thats what online leadframe sellers are noting.

Interesting.
My baja partner just had to do his 2010 6.2 trans and the exact opposite was true.
His Lead Frame was not the same as mine. I remember there were issues getting his operating again. Something in the ECU regarding the trans.

Was there a build date on his trans? I'm slowly removing the trans on my 2011 6.2. I'll post the build date on it once it's off the truck.

They all have PCM, both ECM and TCM are together in the PCM

I found a build date on my transfer case, but not on my 6r80. The build date on my 2011 SCREW was on the door.
