16.4 mpg on 1464 mile road trip - details below

I drove 685 miles from Estes Park Colorado to Des Moines Iowa. Mostly I-76 and I-80 with some two lane mountain roads down hill coming out of the mountains. With a mild tail wind behind me I got 17.6 mpg on this leg.

Then 94 miles of in town driving in Des Moines which brought the average down slightly.

Then 685 miles back to Estes Park into a light wind and of course uphill from 1000 feet of elevation to 7522.

All on 91 premium unleaded with alcohol. I used cruise control set about 8mph over the interstate speed limits of between 70-75 mph.

No hot rodding or poking along, just normal acceleration. Final mileage total was 1464 at 16.4 mpg combined for the whole trip.

Not to bad for a lifted 6000lb truck.

Got almost 15mpg in my Gen 1 on a round trip to Virginia a year ago. If you don't leadfoot it all the time, it's not too bad on long highway travel.

I had a 2018 and and a 2019 Raptor and I was always getting about 19-23. I can't seem to break 16.5 on my 2023.

I have got 16.3-16.5 for over a year, I switched gas stations from marathon to Maverick and suddenly getting 17.2. Could be the summer gas mix, higher VP, but I like it. Probably 50% hwy 30% county roads and 20% city.

I had a 2019 Raptor and it's long term average (30,000 miles) was only about 14.5 mpg.
It was mostly driven on long road trips to Florida and Iowa pushing the speed limits about 8 mph over.

We can get lots of wind along I-70 or I-80 which can really impact mileage. I've seen it as low as 10 mpg trying to maintain
80 mph into a strong 30-40 mph head or crosswind.

So far its my guess that my 2023 gets better mileage by around 1.5 mpg but it's hard to be scientific about it because of the
different driving conditions that skew the results.

got 17.5mpg driving from colorado to maine last weekend over about 30 hours of drive time. didn't drive aggressively most of the time (cruise at reasonable speeds), only a few stints of pedal to the floor for some serotonin dumping and passing morons.

i added some air to the k02's before the trip so they are about at 38psi cold, up from 34. still feels quite plush

Not the longest trip but 18.5 from Seattle to Tri Cities going over the Cascades doing 75mph most the way up the pass. Not bad (this is on 35’s). Same trip on 37’s was about 16.5.

Did you only drive downhill? I averaged that from Breckenridge, CO to Amarillo, TX, but it was very much all downhill.
