Remove the lid to the center console (few screws in the hinge). That will let you lift up the foe stainless trim which will intern let you remove the back panel. Pull back at the top of the back cover and tilt it backwards then lift out at the bottom. Only screws I remember are the ones holding the hinge down, but take your time its been a few months since I had it apart.

Let us know if your able to adjust the Tension of the contacts in the reciprocal.

Put a 40 pound bookbag in the backseat, plug in your cell phone, then have a cantankerous balding old lady in a stupidly worthless old ************* pull out in front of you then proceed to slam your brakes to the floor and wa la! One 110 outlet removed from the housing!:rage:

Mine won't hold a plug either. I'll try to get it fixed under warranty next time the truck goes in for something. Glad I'm not the only one with this problem.

Ok, easy fix here.

1) remove the console lid (3 t-30 screws)
2) pull up on top of center console (about 2"
3) remove 2 7mm screws holding back panel on (above the rear ac vents)
4) unplug 110 power plug harness and AC adapter harnes
5) remove 110 power pluch, (4 small tabs, push in)
6) seperate 110 power plug (just pry off the back)
7) cut two 1/4" sections of surgical tubing (took this from a sling shot, rubber bands will do)
8) put these over each set of the contacts, the shape of the contact is perfect to hold these in place and hold them together
8) put it all back together.

the metal that ford used is really soft, when you install a plug, it bends the contacts, the rubber band pulls them back together. $.02 of better metal would have saved us all 15 minutes. Not even a one beer job.
