See, I'm in it for the looks. I live on the east coast, so there's nothing here that I need a Raptor for that I couldn't do in a modded '150 or Bronco or Jeep or wtf ever.
But I *love* the looks of the Raptor.
And I DD my truck. I put 25k miles a year on the darn thing.
Could I buy a Raptor R...
I've had Camaros, Corvettes, Mustangs, a GTO, couple of V8 trucks, and the Gen 1 Raptor. Trading my wife's Eco Mustang in on a Scat Pack in the next week or so. So...I'm all about the V8 life.
But...I want something new. A Raptor that I can get back and forth to work in with 0 gas, but can...
Plug-in hybrid is the only thing that will get me to upgrade. I already know I can't afford the V8, so that doesn't even enter into my brain.
No PHEV? Sticking with the Gen 2 and doing some mods.
I completely buy the hybrid option and the v8 as an additional cost.
Hell, I've been thinking for a long time the next Raptor would be a hybrid, but it makes sense to use the Predator as well since it's already been developed.
All Raptor prices will go up $5k over current trucks, the V8 will be...
That's why I have no use for an Electric-only vehicle.
But a plug-in hybrid would be awesome.
Generally they have much larger batteries than regular hybrids...so more electric-only range OR you can save all that power for when you're out camping.
I live on the east coast so I don't get much...
When it pulled away from the parking spot, was the engine on?
I need to know if it's a hybrid or not. Because I'm praying to the pre-production gods that it's a plug-in hybrid.
The one thing I don't understand, and will comment on, about this whole "argument" is why you bastards care?
I guess I just don't understand having your whole identity wrapped up in having the "correct" opinion regarding these things. Then, subsequently having to vilify anyone that disagrees...
I have an MX4. Had it on my 2017 F150 for over 2 years and 40k miles. Now I have it on my Raptor. Pretty much just like new...can barely tell it's 2.5 years old.
I love it. Can't open it without opening the tailgate (which is great since it locks), fits great, nearly water-tight (I call BS on...
Poor Ford. They have an impossible task.
Just take the 35 replies to this thread, for example. You can barely get anyone to agree on anything.
No matter what they do, someone will be angry.
What makes you say that? I mean, I'm just dreaming, but I don't see what would stop them.
Can you imagine the 3.5 out of the GT (650hp) plus 2-3 electric motors worth 150hp and a 20-30kWh battery? 800 combined hp and 30 miles or so of EV range.
I can only get so erect.
Damn it, Ford. Stop!
Ugh, I just got my Gen 2, and I want a Bronco!
Hopefully they don't do a plug-in hybrid. Even a V8 won't make me want to upgrade. But if they do a plug in hybrid with 30-40 miles of EV range and 800+hp combined...I'll probably be selling a kidney.
Paul. Is there a difference, other than physical size, between a Squadron Racer and an XL Racer? According to the website they have the same lumens and power draw.
I recently purchased a 2018 Raptor. I previously had a 2013, and after selling it a little over two years ago, I couldn't stand it any longer and came back into the fold.
In the spirit of continuous improvement, I wanted to do something a little different with the wiring on this truck; not to...
