I just swapped my rear diff fluid out after 84K miles and there was no smell and it was pretty clean. Wondering if it was done 40K ago when I bought it.
My 04 Cobra diff fluid smelled like a dead body warmed over and was ready for that same smell but no dice this time
Finally finished up the maintenance/modding. Stock leafs and springs available if anyone is in AZ. In the last 3 weeks:
TSW Bravo shocks with Geisers on low
Alcan leafs(stock height) with flip bolt plate and timbren bumps
New hub and IWE on drivers side
Stainless brake lines/brake flush
Power...
Finally got the truck checked out after I thought I had an IWE vacuum issue. Goes away in 4WD and replaced the valve but it didn't stop grinding in 2WD. Shop said my drivers side hub is bad. Less than 2 days on Geisers and it goes out but also 83K miles. The passenger side better last another...
Good to know! I need to measure these 37s now that weight is on them but I imagine they are about 36" tall. I have before and after measurements with stock leafs. Hoping for no change out back when the Alcans go on. Love how level the truck is now
With stock springs and turning to full lock, the back edge of the tire has maybe 1/16" clearance from the fender liner and it barely rubbed the liner after getting a little bit of air time at 65MPH. But I was only off the ground a couple inches.
After the Geiser install I hit a similar jump at...
Thanks! I love the custom Evil Hellion bumper and Im eventually swapping the Squadrons out for XL80s.
Stock wheels. Never changing them! Toe was way off on my alignment after the Geisers but got it within specs no problem
Oh and after 200 hard miles in the mountains and flat roads at 85MPH, I get home to the IWE rattling on the drivers side. 4WD made it go away. Lines looks good so I took the valve off, blew thru it and put it back together and the rattling went away. Picked up a new vacuum valve just in case it...
Went up to 8,500ft in the AZ Mountains to cut down Christmas trees. 37' Mickeys, Geiser Bros bottom perch on TSW bravo rebuilds. Stock leafs in the rear still, Alcans(stock lift) should be here in 2 weeks.
Geisers feel so much better on the street compared to stock but they blew me away on the...
Its actually a knock off and its really nice. I love that damn chair but no way Im spending $5K+ on one
haha feeling my blurry background. Im 6'2" and fit nicely in it but the jack is massive
Picked up a Badland, really well built. The $40 off sale ends Sunday BTW. Also found these mounting plate options but I doubt I'll bolt it down unless I do a Baja trip. Maybe for the trailer one day...
Anyone interested in some used XL80s? Found a guy with 6 but I only want 2 to upgrade my Squadrons. Two sets of 2 or 4 available to make the deal happen. LMK!
Ordered my 2nd set of TSW rebuilds but doing Bravo valving this time since Im putting Geisers on bottom perch. 1st set of Charlie valved shocks on bottom perch lasted about 24K miles before I found a leaker. Will have over 28K miles on them by swap time.
Ordering leafs next week from Alcan...
Ordering leafs next week from Alcan. Lew is going to build them to stock lift and weight capacity but doing a U bolt flip plate with a bump plate so I can remove the stock lift block. Also gets me more clearance with the new u bolts flipped
No sway bar on mine for the last 3.5 years and it will never go back on for street/offroading. I only throw it back on when Im towing the Bronco. Without it the front end is softer and you can feel more shock travel. At speeds on the highway it does get floaty but its manageable. You have...
Teasing mine looking at new leafs. Still leaning toward Alcan Spring in Colorado and they are about $1500 shipped up to 4" lift. Geisers and Bravo TSWs going on at the same time and I don't want any rake so do I go with stock lift leafs or +2/3s with drop shackles? Still trying to figure out the...
