I have noticed the opposite thing doing downhill, in 4L 1st, it crawls along at such a slow pace it's irritating. I usually end up bumping it up to 2nd. The few times I have used the hill decent I have noticed the brakes get hot, but after hearing all the clicking and whirring that goes on, I...
I am with Ice and Marcs on this one - you may or may not have to pay the piper, and I hope you never do, but you are playing with fire. Ford makes the F-250 /350 for a reason.
Please post up your future trips so I can make sure my loved ones are not nearby.
This is going to cause some eyes to roll, but here goes.
If you worked for Ford and wanted to see if any of your dealers had an inclination towards selling Raptors for non intended markets wouldn't this be a good place to throw out some bait and see if anyone bit? I know- long shot but who knows.
If I remember right, isn't the surge override controlled by the B/U lights? if the B/U lights aren't in the 7 way it isn't going to work. I would see what terminal does what in the Expedition.
What pirate said. It produces sufficient HP as it is. It was designed to be truck motor, so spending the money to get top level efficiency out of it wasn't a big priority.
Look at it this way, would you be able to hit any harder if your sledge hammer was aerodynamic?
Probably not.
White Screw in Reno Costco parking lot this AM- had a different graphic-a black stripe from the front fender going back with ghost STV lettering in it.
Yesterday on the way home from work the wife told me she saw a white Raptor up ahead (NB 395 north of Reno), she thinks it's me, so she...
People in jobs like that tend to forget their job is to make things easier for the residents. They bitch and whine when they have to do anything & as a result, all sorts of policies & rules get made to make their job easier & things harder for the people who pay for them.
Man that sucks. But thank god your kids weren't in there.
A coworker had his motorhome do something similar. That was a total disaster, as the body floated up off the frame/floor and made a big mess, because everything (tools & whatnot) in the side compartments spilled out.
OK-now this is weird- Today I saw the same Raptor at the same place- WTF? it's like groundhog day...
I also saw a silver Screw w hood graphics NB on 395
I have MFT in my '13 Escape & it's been working fine since we got it about a month ago. I have been waiting for something to crop up, but so far-nothing.
Saw two black Raptors in various places around Reno yesterday, see at least one per day around here. Of course, I am never in mine when I see 'em, so waving makes me look like one of those guys.
I have found that if I really hammer it- lots of full throttle, 4,000 rpm- running up Pea Vine mountian (It's the local version of Pikes Peak) my oil life can be reduced by about 50%. This last service only lasted about 2K miles before it said oil change was due. But I had a lot of visitors, so...
May can be rainy and wet, and that means mud. Trust me, you dont want any of that mud, your Raptor will carry it to the crusher-or the Mecum classic auction in 2050.
BTW-Ice-all the CHPs were in Truckee and on 80. I encountered about 5 of em.
Your Welcome.
My sales guy at Ford has an eco in his F-150 and we compare mileage between my wife's 5.0 L FX-4 and his. He does a bit better in town, on the highway they are neck and neck. Not good enough for me to have to deal with twin turbos.
Should be there- at around 10, so try to hang till I get there.
Besides, the river is cold at 10AM..Unless you like chicks in sweatshirts and long pants you should wait until at least 12:00-1:00....
Providing nothing explodes or unravels I should be able to make this.
So....how many are for sure going to be there? What time does everyone plan on being there?
Aside from the suspension issues & the fact that Ford didnt design the Raptor for towing, the 5.5 bed limits turning radius. You can smash the trailer into the cab when backing or making tight manuevers.
Yes, there are people towing 5th wheels and goosenecks with Raptors, but that doesnt make...
