Yup. The old ones used little gears and servo motors to move. The newer ones use an electromagnet are more reliable.

Crazy. My 2012 SCREW takes the H13/9008. According to the Slyvania bulb guide the 2011 does too. Is your kit the high/low or do you only have low beams? I suppose its possible the 9005 is the same as the 9008/H13 but without the 2nd high beam element.

Halogens are pretty limited unless you can find much higher wattage bulbs. Then you risk melting housings etc. With the HIDs you will lose flash to pass (headlights off to Brights on) but there is no delay going from high to low since the bulb stays lit and just moves rearward in the housing...

I put DDM's Bi-Xenons in mine. Other than sending me the wrong color bulbs they work great. I'm not real happy with their customer service but there aren't a lot of people that make the Hi/Lo setup for a decent price. The light pattern is great for a reflector housing.
