With all due respect, picking a color is a preference thing, what I like or anyone else like is just that - their preference. It is almost like asking someone boxer or briefs.. or commando for that matter. It doesn't matter what anyone else likes - it's what blows your hair back. If you go...
You are lucky to have that playground in your backyard (or 30 miles away). How much gas did you have when you left on this excursion. May need to carry extra gas in the future.
Gen2's don't have the same problem as we can get anywhere from 400-700 miles out of a tank depending on driving mode...
This is going to be a preference thing. The vehicles look the same and essentially perform the same. Although there are upgrades with the 2020. If an additional $20k is not a pain point for you, go new. I have a 2018 with 51k. I will move to a 2020 later this year. Every situation is...
What did that set you back? My 2018 has been trouble free for the first 50,000 miles. Cam Phaser issue just started happening, but dealer is taking care of it. Parts are on order and they are providing a loaner. I will look at the extended warranty on my next one.
Why are you so fixated on the depreciation? The Raptor is a vehicle not an asset, it is going to depreciate. I paid what I thought was a good price (I paid sticker, no discount, no up-charge)for my 2018 in September of 2017. I didn't spend $70k thinking I am going to get $50k for it in 2...
I agree, my 2018 is my second F150 with the pano-moon roof - I open mine on a regular basis.
I've never had a leak or had issues with either one closing.
Most of my rotations have been at the dealer, so I think they kind of abuse the locks with their impact gun. I too garage my truck when at home so not a big deal.
I installed a locking lug nut on each of my wheels when I purchased my 2018 over 2 years ago. I am now at 50,000+ miles and have rotated my tires every 5-7k miles. As a result the locking lug is starting to wear down. I just replaced my first set of KO2's with the same and am debating...
I did not have the step on my 2014 and I got in and out fine, didn't think I needed it on my 2018, but the truck I found had the step. Now, I use it every time I am getting into the bed - I will definitely get it on my next truck. Great feature in my opinion, like everything else on my 2018...
If you are hitting the Dakota's too, The Badlands are pretty cool. We like the white water rafting out of Buena Vista, CO Performance Tours through Browns canyon is awesome.
Regardless of where you go out there, you will have a great time.
MPG was better on the drive back than going out there, It helps driving back when you have a steady drop in elevation and all of the adult beverages you packed in the bed were gone.. It's like a jumbo jet getting a tailwind..:driver:
I had a trip out to Yellowstone where I had a lot of highway driving. I had over 700 miles to empty... and yes I was on the highway when I saw the miles to empty at 709 and decided to take a quick snapshot.
I didn't think I wanted or needed the tailgate step as my 2014 did not have one. Wow -great option as you get older. At 56, I do not climb into the bed without dropping it down.
Congrats on the 2020...
I have a couple of inches to spare front to back, I wrapped my stud (no drywall) with foam (cut 4' pool floats, they slide over studs). I also have a tennis ball hanging in case my wife is driving it and decides to pull in the garage. I can't walk behind it if the door is closed - but worth it...
Congrats on the Gen 2. Nice Mods... Kind of cool to pull up to a light an know you will not see another truck that looks like yours sitting next to you.
I agree with Tim's comments. I am also 56 and typically buy a new vehicle every 2-4 years. My 2018 Raptor replaced my 2014 F150 Lariat. The Raptor is by far, the best vehicle I have ever owned. I have 49,000 miles on mine and will hand it off to my son next year when I get my next Raptor...
As Terry noted, performance is better with 93 octane... your gas mileage is better too! I M not sure why anyone would spend Raptor money for a truck, then skimp on the gas. It is a great truck get out and enjoy it.
