Washed it... for the first time in 3 months! hahaha... dang. I also cleaned around the sunroof opening, sunroof seals, and applied Krytox lube to it all. Now I can open my sunroof for the spring season without (much) fear.
I have a small "stupid" dent that I need to PDR... but that is for...
I want to love them, but I am finishing up 3 days of snow driving on K02s... grip like mad, lightweight, and they last a good while. The first hour or 2 when it rains (oils, dirt) is the one area where I would say K02s are weak, but... the AT4W... 76lbs for a C rated is too heavy for me...
Had HUD on a '22 X3 m40i. I absolutely loved it. If you're buying new anyway, it's worth the optional cost. Reality for me is that I don't miss it, and having had it and left it, I don't think it's worth a multi-thousand dollar delta... if you already own a truck you love.
Drove around in the snow. - tried the "modes". Honestly, in this powdery stuff, 4wd is not needed. I've had some great snow vehicles... our Limited AWD 4runner being one of them... BMW X3 m40i... both mountain goats in the snow, but neither holds a candle to the Raptor.
stock K02s, ... and...
It has the appropriate amount of stickers. Torsen, 37s. Agree with the "drive it, check it, buy it" advice.
If financing, I would get - at least - powertriain coverage through Ford on this - If your buddy has reserve to "self insure" for engine/drivetrain failures, GooseTune it, and enjoy it...
I say "GT" build. I would say coyote build - as they are the most common V8 swap, but... none of those builds will be more reliable (in practice) or require less attention per mile than a built 3.5.
Left a ‘22 X3m40i into a Gen2.
We had looked at/drove the X5 m50i when we were looking and ended up with the X3 because the X5 just wasn’t that much bigger, the hot-V had a “reputation” and the B58 was amazing.
The Gen2 is HUGE inside and a tonneau gives you a freight car’s worth of cargo...
I washed it. 39deg outside. I can only do 2-bucket, foam cannon, full dry kind-of wash.
It's clean, but the juice was not worth the squeeze. tho- Ya can't show up to family Christmas in a Dirty Chariot.
*edit. I went to get gas after washing... I didn't dry the tonneau. it was this cold.
To add another confirmation to this known fact:
My original AGM (FOMOCO) battery was showing between 12.5 and 12.36v with the truck off and float charge removed. That's not great, but the truck cranked perfect and no alerts or lights ever came on.
I was planning on replacing it...
Just making sure any consumers are eyes wide open. ;)

The spicer cover did include a gasket, but I went with a lubelocker gasket (LLR-F975). As has been shared here, it only goes on one way. If the holes don’t line up, don’t freak out, just flip it over.
bolt torque to 14lb/ft - no issues. I reused the (3) bolts with studs - they were the same...
(2) New wheels w/ beauty rings!! (thanks to a chain tire store) haha... Finally. It took 4.5hrs at the Ford dealership... with an existing appt. After waiting 30min, they said they weren't going to be able to do it, because the machine they were going to use was broken. That was fine. Then...
Absolutely. I get what my post looked like. The "not liking how it looked was about the oil I checked from the dipstick right before I emptied the AOS. I expect the oil from the AOS to look... however it looks. As always, thanks for making us all FordSmarter.
Flat or gentle slope... put it in park, turn it off.
Steep slope, where the pinion gear is going to have a lot of pressure on it? Stop, Neutral, Parking Brake, Off Brake, Put it in Park, turn it off.
meh. ^^ most of the time.
I did not wrap the subwoofer! Let me know how it goes, as that would be a relatively easy thing to do. BTW... I probably do not do as "complete" a job as most will. I do my best to cover the panels (interior and exterior for doors), but coverage is not 100%. If I get to a difficult spot, I...
So.. TBH, I don't know. Kilmat is 10"x16" sheets. I (think I) used 7 vertical from bottom to top, and then 4 horizontal across the top? so 11 pieces did the whole rear wall - obviously the top row is cut down to about 6"x16".
haha... so now I do know... I THINK 12.2sq ft.
(2) 35sq ft...
For anyone on the fence. I installed the Ford Performance catch can 1,200 miles ago. - same time I changed the oil (Penzoil Ultra Platinum 5w30).
For kicks, I emptied it today. It's been doing the thing. I have not been driving hard... as an aside, this oil was not the color that I...
I put Kilmat on the entire rear of the cab bottom to the window. Having done both front doors with Block-Off Plates, now I can clearly hear road noise and it is obvious that it's from the rear doors... hahahaha... they are next!
I'll probably do the floor at some point, but not anytime soon...
Welcome and Happy Raptor Day.
FWIW:
I ported over to a Gen2 from a '22 BMW X3 M40i. The X3 was a legit 4sec 0-60 rocket that actually handled curvies really well on summers... save the "designed" understeer. On a group drive though twisties in Dragon territory, in the wet, M cars could not...
