Don't know of any locals with a roll bar. I'll pm you my number if you want to go play around in some snow today. I haven't yet put the truck thru its paces in deep snow. Would like to see what she could do.
That happened to my wife the other day. She parked the F350 next to the driveway and got about 7 to 8' away and the truck slid across some ice. Funniest thing to watch her reaction on the driveway camera. It ended up sliding a couple more times before it reached dry land. My driveway slopes...
I take window cleaner and a roll of paper towels with me to clean the headlights before the night shift. Not all gas stations have a squeegee at the pump. Couple full size towels just in case I spill something.
The very first race team I ever worked for took this a little further. Every morning before start up we had to pull the spark plugs first(idea being taking the pressure off of everything) then turn them over to build oil pressure. Eventually, a spark plug blew out of a cylinder during a race and...
Wow! R3 conditions in California and they kept the road open? Up here it's closed before that.
Thanks for the heads up on having to carry chains. Never been checked for that. Use to run down 50 to the Bay area once month. Biggest concern was prepping for getting stuck in a closed road when the...
For me, that's pretty funny right there. Have attorney's on retainer. Since 2013 I've spent more than 200k in Atty fees. Around here I'm pretty versed in how the courts work all the way up to the Nevada Supreme Court. Not worth the bother for just a car issue because in the long run all that...
They don't always stand behind their 1LE's or the Z-28's. Plenty of people complaining about it on the chevy forums. If a dealer can find proof of track time they won't warranty it. In 2014 I couldn't find a California dealer that even new what a 1LE was.
One guy on you tube doesn't out way the...
My wife loves HER Raptor. The last 3 weeks I've had it in the garage to detail it. Only way I can spend any time with it. Funny she hasn't bitched why it's taking so long lol. I don't get to drive it that much. She takes it to work usually. I had her do the Raptor school (she had a blast). Now...
I noticed I had thousands of little tiny spots all over the hood and front fenders of my truck. I suspected pine sap but they aren't sticky and are real hard to see. Got out the clay bar and must of had something in the clay cause now I have some fine scratches in the clear coat on the hood...
Engine braking can be effected by fueling and ignition timing. Very common on four stroke mx bikes were the throttle is still mechanical with no electronic over ride. When the big 450 four stroke craze happened, compression braking was a big rider complaint. Everyone was use to 250 two strokes...
I used a level at first also. The bolt has a 11mm head. 11mm 1/4 socket with a 1/4" swivel and a 1/4" by 4 inch extension can get thru the grill for adjustments without tearing apart everything.
It's off of the Oneidas trail head and runs over to High Meadow trail(intersects Pioneer at the school). Not very long but something to do. I thing it's probably still passable right now. Don't think they gate it like they do Genoa Peak rd. Ride my dirt bikes over there once every couple years...
I hear you on the fuel. Maverick in Minden is usually $1.20 a gallon cheaper than up here. And Costco in Carson runs .05 to .10 lower still. The Walmart in Gardnerville has 91 and 100 non-ethanol.
Have you ever been down that powerline road over there in your Raptor?
I'm off of Kingsbury grade.
If it's a small light electrical I'd rather take care of it my self. My luck my insurance would fix it and give it back. Then I would be chasing problems forever. But mostly because it's now become a requirement to carry a fire extinguisher(along with water and a shovel) in my local BLM areas...
Don't worry. Just board peps. The milage isn't really that bad if you can keep your foot out of it. I can get 20mpg on the highway pretty easy going 60. Better if I run non-ethanol. But, can you drive that slooowww.
Thanks
That's some funny stuff right there. NDOT employees are just like Cal-Trans employees. What would they do if short handled shovels were required. Probably bring lawn chairs.
No, he is a mellow, cool guy. Also, former Search and Rescue and Douglas County Sheriffs office volunteer guy. That S&R jacket buys a lot of milage. lol. This was in the Pine Nuts, East of Gardnerville. BLM has been taking an interest in there lately. Said the BLM ranger was real nice. He didn't...
