They use denatured alcohol on the paint if it's not too thick, may work. I've watched them do this to two of my other trucks on the cab.
No ill effects to the paint that I noticed.

Yes Sir. That's my problem. I could drive a decent company supplied new truck, stripped down at work, buy a Eco Boost or keep driving the Raptor. I just can't get out of this truck. When I have warranty or oil changes done it kills me! Ha
I didn't get that huge space taking thing on mine. The bosses King Ranch is constantly getting in the way and he didn't care for it after a couple of years.
I know this doesn't answer the locking question but it was one option I knew I could live without compared to the space it takes up. IMO...
