I get that the solder butt connectors are good connectors and have used them before.
I'm wondering what other options you would recommend? The issue I have with the butt connectors are that the upfitter wires are fixed length, so I'd hate to have to cut them and re-solder something, making...
Appreciate that. Does it clean up pretty easily? And does it prevent stuff from sliding around?
I currently have a rubber mat that I thought would keep things from sliding as easily as they did on the spray-in liner.
I thought someone had asked this (maybe it was another thread) but what carpeted liner/mat is that you on the floor of the bed? I like the look of that and it seems it is more cushioned and forgiving than than the liner I have in mine currently.
It came with all of the washers and spacers. Plenty of those actually. The bolts are 1/4-20 and M8-1.25 I believe, then you can just get whatever length will work for your spacer and washer setup.
I went back and forth between BDs yellow lens and ORA orange lens to match the factory lighting. I ended up with the BD yellow, but know the orange looks great, too. I may switch at some point if I get bored with it.
Welcome, I'm also in Birmingham. If you're on Facebook, look up our group Alabama Ford Raptor Owners.
As for tunes, I have went with @GooseTuned and have been happy with it! One of the other guys in our group went with an MPT tune and I think he is happy with it.
For me, getting the bezels on was a PITA. The lights go on pretty easily once the bezels are installed. I can tell you I ended up using the following spacers and washers:
On the Driving/Combo and the SAEs, I used 2 thick washers, spacer, and a thin washer above the bracket and a thin washer...
I was going to get them, but they were out of stock and said they would be for a few months. I'll get some whenever they are back in stock.
Can you tell me how they attach? I know they attach to the liner, but how? All I can find online is a pic of the backside, none of how they mount.
I am planning to just run straight thru when I wire up my fog lights. I have 3 pairs of lights (Baja Designs driving/combo, SAE and S1s) and currently have no plans to add others, so I am just going to go ahead and use switches either switches 1-3 or 2-4, likely 2-4 and save 1 just in case.
Been working on installing my @OffroadAlliance.com triple bezel kit. Just need to get them wired up and aimed now. Driving/combo inside, SAE in the middle, and S1 wide cornering ambers on the outside.
I'm not sure I follow. They are listed as waterproof and don't tap into any wire. The upfitter wire feeds into one end and the wiring harness wire on the other end.
Appreciate that info. I assume my order came with your wiring harness, so I shouldn't need any additional wire?
So the Squadron Pro driving/combo is listed on the BD site at 2.90A per light? So most likely Switch 3-4.
SAE is listed at 1.6A per light?
S1 wide cornering (amber) is listed at...
I just ordered a triple bezel kit from Baja Designs and it is arriving tomorrow. I am somewhat familiar with electrical wiring, but wanted input from the experts before I start my install.
I ordered the following:
Baja Designs Squadron Pro
Baja Designs SAE Wide Cornering
Baja Designs S1 Wide...
Ordered the triple bezel fog light kit from @OffroadAlliance.com. Ended up going with the Baja Designs S1s in amber, white SAE, and white Squadron Pro driving/combo.
It is a good suggestion, but it is just going to the dealership to let them look. I tried today to replicate it and couldn't, so since it isn't a regular thing I don't know if I could tell whether 2H or 4A made a difference.
Would IWE leak randomly?
No, so far it has been all 2H. It also seems to do it more after the truck has been running...like I leave it running while I go get my son from daycare and it'll do it when we get back in to leave. Or I stopped in a parking lot to recreate it.
All stock. Seems to be in the hub area and not suspension related as it doesn't seem to do it turning the wheel, but only when the tire is moving.
It also doesn't seem to do it going forward, only reverse.
I have noticed what I would call a "popping" sound when backing up with the wheel turned clockwise. It doesn't have to be at full lock and I haven't really figured out how to replicate it regularly.
It seems somewhat random, but it happened again today leaving daycare and I was able to stop at...
