Boomba BOV Adapter? Convince me otherwise...

So I’ve been doing a lot of research on BOVs and think I’m settled on the boomba adapter. Curious if anyone has any reason to convince me otherwise?

First off, I know it provides zero performance gains and I know some people hate the sound, but I like it. Now...here’s my thoughts. Let me know if I’m missing anything.

vs Plug Mod: I’ve listened to some clips and it seems pretty unanimous that the boomba sounds cleaner, louder, and all around more prominent. I have no issues with a $60 boomba adapter vs $5 plug for the cleanliness and peace of mind of a more permanent install and the better (IMO) sound.

vs Turbosmart Supersonic: The sprinkler noise would kill me and I don’t want to **** with the stock, mystical fuel/vacuum/whatever ford engineers called it tube. Moving on...

vs Turbosmart Vee Port EM: Is this thing really worth the $300 vs $60 boomba? What’s the benefit? Serious questions, it’s why I’m asking. I know a lot of people complain that the stock is a ****** piece of plastic but at the end of the day, has anyone actually broken one?

Side note: I’m ordering a Cobb intercooler and will be doing the BOV install at the same time to save the hassle.

I have a Cobb intercooler, only thing I would worry about is if you off road any and get in deep water, where the blow off valve is at, it's the lowest point on the intercooler pipe routing and may be able to let water in, or mud if your mudding when it's bypassing air, if you don't off road your truck or get in deep water during flooding conditions, no worries then.

You should consider ordering a SVC FMIC as it moves the BOV to the top of the IC. And should you ever get an aftermarket frame cut bumper you will not have any clearance issues.

or, you can just disconnect the hose that attaches at the intake pipe, plug the intake pipe hole and put a small filter on the hose that routes up to the intake pipe and zip tie it out of the way. you'll get the same sounds you're looking for. just an idea, and its less likely to get water into the intercooler if you plan on getting the truck truly wet at sometime in the future

I hadn’t even considered this but now I’m tempted. I will be off-roading my raptor but don’t currently have plans for anything too serious. I say that now but when the opportunity presents itself...I do have a **** and the blood / common sense will definitely flow away from my brain.

I love mine, sounds fun and gets a lot of attention. I ran it stock and now with the cobb FMIC. My truck has a hard life and no issues with dirt/water intrusion, after all it is a positively charged vent.

Installed the Boomba BOV adapter today and love it! Super easy with the stock IC since you can access it through the skid plate. Just need to remove that 90 degree off the bottom of IC. I attached a pic for anyone interested in doing the same.

Meant to post this a while back. My adapter does not fit with the CVF intercooler. It digs the plug into the charge hose.

This is the same one I have considered, for many of the same reasons. I don't see the benefit to spending $300 for the Turbosmart Vee Port EM...
