My 18 was built in March. It lived @the dealer until November. I’ve had it for one month, 1,000 miles, zero issues. Everything works perfectly. It sounds like you have a bad truck.
Every time I press the pedal, it puts a smile on my face. I love my 2018. It is my daily driver. The road noise and ride with the stock tires is not bad IMHO. I like the way it feels at highway speeds. Take it out for a long test drive and see for yourself.
Before you spend money for the auto stop eliminator, if you don’t tow often pull the plug for the trailer lights. No cost, easy to do, easy to reverse; problem solved.

FWIW I was in the same boat and opted for the ‘18 @4k below MSRP. IMHO the differences are minor if you’re primarily going to be on road. The cost savings are significant. If you can find an ‘18 with the options you’re looking for I would save my money and begin enjoying it now.
I would not have spent the money had I ordered my truck, but they were on my ‘18 when I bought it . They are growing on me so I left them on for now. My wife hates them.
