Lockable Storage INSIDE THE TAILGATE?
YES. I just stumbled upon this...

Here is an applicable video. Cut to the chase and go to the last segment.
Drained and replaced the gear oil in the rear differential. On a previous occasion I replaced the woefully inadequate factory differential cover with an aftermarket unit that actually has (insert drum roll right about here) a DRAIN PLUG, so this operation is much, much easier and guarantees a...
^^^I've been wondering how things went with the Goo Gone. Is there any chance that the sticker image you're trying to defeat might be on the inside of the glass?
CLR and a scrub pad ought to take care of the water spots.
That's pretty interesting. Maybe the whole idea is to equalize the temps of the oil and the coolant. I don't know what that would do for you, and I've never known that to be a concern. I'm still puzzled.
This mirrors my own experience. On advice provided by @FordTechOne I disconnected the battery (I disconnected both terminals just to be thorough :)) and left it that way overnight. Reconnected in the morning, started it up, and turned on the AC. It clicked a couple times, and then settled...
All lubrication fluids age, and they age whether the unit is used or not. I've done both differentials and the transfer case several times on my GEN1. The transfer case is easy - it actually has a drain plug! The differentials, not so, and you need the means to suck the old gear oil out...
@RUFdriver , I think that YOU need to retain a document file on this matter. You are one customer among millions and files get misplaced, lost, and deleted. If this happens again you will benefit from being able to prove the history of this, because if Ford can't find the history of this...
As it pertains to just changing the spark plugs, I didn't have any particular difficulty with the front wheels dismounted and the wheel well liners left in place. One man's personal experience.
No. The location of the passenger side strut tower is the impediment, not the strut itself. It's anything but an insurmountable problem. All it takes is some ingenuity and a decent collection of tools.
FYI, the measurement from mirror edge to mirror edge is 97.5 inches. (Give or take a small fraction because the steering wheel is in the way as you stretch a tape measure across through the front windows.)
My 2011 has 105K on it. It is my only vehicle with four wheels and has been so since I ordered it from the Dearborn factory. Stone reliable. Aside from maintenance (from routine tire rotations and oil changes to transmission services and a spark plug change - all of which I have done myself)...
A folding or retractable shifter? No wonder R models are so damn expensive!
No doubt they have self-cleaning mirrors and perpetual new car smell, too.:D
Oh, me either! If you buy a 6,000 pound vehicle with lots of suspension travel and a 400 bhp engine and expect to brag about fuel economy you're just fooling yourself. I actually get 16 to 16.5 mpg in town on midgrade gas, but at 75 to 80 mph it's a different story. I'm happy with that. My...
