PSA driver side low beam out equals trouble!

Took delivery of my 2024 Raptor in May, the night of delivery noted the driver side low beam not working, everything else worked. Took it back to dealer for a quick fix, changed the module and at least two programming “fixes” no success. Finally replaced the entire module and headlight assembly, the light works but will not turn off unless battery is disconnected. Ford has not been able to resolve this issue.
In addition to mine there are at least 3 other new 2024 Raptors affected in Houston. Ford engineers are actively working the problem according to the Service Manager. When you take delivery please check your headlights. The lack of a driver side low beam is a symptom of a much more significant issue. Ford hopes to have a solution soon , I will update as things change.

Why would you even drive off the lot with a non working headlight?
The most correct response would have been to not complete paperwork until / unless the problem was resolved to your satisfaction, thus making it the stealership’s problem, rather than your problem.

Seriously... Jen Tres potential buyers:
INSPECT the truck yourself BEFORE you sign papers!

The most correct response would have been to not complete paperwork until / unless the problem was resolved to your satisfaction, thus making it the stealership’s problem, rather than your problem.

Seriously... Jen Tres punto cinco potential buyers:
INSPECT the truck yourself BEFORE you sign papers!
FIFY..they do not feel special if you don't put the .5 on there.

My bad I didn’t even notice the headlight when I picked it up in the morning. I assumed the PDI was done corrrctly. This isn’t the first car new vehicle I’ve purchased, I have never had to check every last light bulb on a new car, at this price point you shouldn’t have to but it’s a new post Covid poor QC world now.

I’m not trying to rub salt in the wound here but...

how much fúck you money do you have that you can afford to not inspect a truck that costs scores of thousands of dollars?
Don’t feel bad, this happened in 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 and continues this year - although the headlight is a new issue from what I’ve read.

Let’s just say it’s not the most expensive car in my garage. I know you’re not trying to be a ****, but I’ve purchased many a car out of state with a perfect PDI, it’s not something I should have to worry about. I question the Ford PDI process, it’s obviously magnitudes of order below Porsche for example, which is quite extensive.
I never had any trouble with my 2017 Raptor until the cam phasers. Are you saying this headlight issue has occurred since MY 2017? The dealer seems completely lost. Most recent update Ford is sending an engineer down on Monday. We shall see.

No, it hasn’t been an issue and this is the first I’ve heard of it on the forums. Pretty sad that they have to send an engineer for a headlight.

No, not the headlight issue, but pretty early on, I think starting late 2016 in the Jen Too section there was a thread on things to check when you picked up the truck. There’s a current one in the Jen Tres forums. I hit that thread up and in addition to what I’d check with any used car purchase, I created a checklist from that discussion. I covered as many things as I could from that thread. I took pictures from every possible angle, confirmed function on every light, turn signal, button, dial & setting.

ETA - my previous comment was less articulate. I didn’t mean to suggest the headlight issue was prevalent in Jen Too trucks - apologies. I meant we had our share of odd ball issues--

Sure, it came with a warranty and I’m sure they’d have fixed it, but some of the problems were kind of comical. Radiator hose not fully seated, pi$$ed out all the coolant and overheated the truck in under 50 miles. Some other pretty goofy faults. You Jen Tres guys have seen the same, maybe a slight uptick.

I’ve definitely seen a split among the well to do buyers vs. everyone else. The former have great latitude to either drive in, pickup the ready truck without a second thought, or the people who are paying big money to them who might be a little more concerned about what they’re slapping down almost 6 figures for. When I bought my ’17, the downpayment wast the biggest personal check I ever stroked. It stayed that way until l had the garage built for my Rap in ’20.

Like I said - in no way am I trying to throw shade your way. But, I would use this as a cautionary tale to any other FRF:
If you have or find a legit safety inspection failing fault on the truck, don’t buy it! Get an uber home and tell the stealership if they fix it, call you back (while you find another truck because that one is going to have problems again and likely electrical or networking problems... The most fun for Techs to resolve)
Yes, even if it is a coveted no-moonroof Raptor. Even if it’s a no moonroof RR. Unless you really love your service department guys.

@RUFdriver , I think that YOU need to retain a document file on this matter. You are one customer among millions and files get misplaced, lost, and deleted. If this happens again you will benefit from being able to prove the history of this, because if Ford can't find the history of this matter or is reluctant to try to find it, you may be SOL.
