Check your CV boots while you are in there. That cv nut only requires 20 ft lbs so don't go all gorilla on it, IIRC those are a nyloc type nut, if that is the case you need to replace the nut when you do the job or it will just back out again. On the IWE delete: never leave a vacuum hose...
Depends on what your after I guess, they aren't great on road tires (I think that was clear when I said buy cheap highway tires). It's pretty common to burn up a set of tires in a weekend of motorsport racing of your choice if you want good performance. The KO2 are a comprimise, they work...
High performance top tier tires are not going to last as long as cheaper tires. They are made of softer tread and lifetime is compromised in favor of grip. Buy a set of cheap highway tires, go 60k and be happy about it, if your spending most of your time on the freeway it makes no sense at all...
That might be the difference that sets these trucks up between disposable and immortal:
There are people who trade in a vehicle at the first sign of trouble, or when the warranty expires because its better to make a payment for them than deal with the problems.
There are some people who like...
Have you priced a new truck? $5k or less all in to replace an engine seems like the bargain of the century when a stripper model raptor is $53k, if you get a loaded one its $80k. Additionally tasca has brand new 6.2l short blocks for $1700, get your heads reconditioned and move your parts over...
Just move the cam over to the donor engine, swap in your sensors. You can have cheap super duty donor engines forever. If your cam is bad get brand new raptor spec cams from ford for $99 and $101.
The 6r80 is not a stopping point, they are rebuildable, and even if you shattered the case or...
If road noise is low priority add Wrangler Duratrac to your list. They make some noise but that is really the only problem I have with them, they otherwise check all your boxes and ride very well. They are lightweight and load range D in a 35.
You will see these around in 50 years. They were an instant collectible and most people tend to take care of them better than other vehicles. They get garaged and treated more nicely on the average day than most pickups. Besides, they share the entire drivetrain with other f-series trucks which...
Running it in 4x4 on dry pavement isn't a great idea. If you have a 13 or newer you have a front limited slip, if you're in 4wd its going to want to lock up and push. Going to be really hard on tires, hard on front end parts. It really isn't neccasary either, let the front wheels do the...
Have you tried pulling codes? A misfire will be a KAM code and should show on a code reader. If you don't have a reader you can get most any parts store to pull codes for you. Torque app and ELM 327 module would allow you to see what is happening with the truck in real time.
If you have no...
Verify it is hitting the mud flaps, not the fender liners. You can just put some chalk on the places it might be rubbing, and back up at full lock to see where it might be touching. If it is not hitting the liners popping the mudflaps makes sense. If it is hitting the liners take it to an...
Try the battery reset I guess. Dash switch is a possible but I'm not sure how it interacts with the BCM. Did you make any changes to the truck around the same time this occurred?
Looking at the fuse and relay lists for the truck it looks like there are no fuses or relays under the hood for park lighting, meaning its all controlled by the BCM and those two interior fuses. Is it both front and rear park lamps that aren't working?
Battery voltage and voltage at those fuses...
Kind of sounds like a bad dash switch, but could be a relay or the BCM how are you with a DMM?
Check fuse 6 under the hood for corrosion, make sure its good. If good check it for voltage with the dash switch in the parking light position. This will cut your search by half.
If you want it to auto cycle you may need a different bar, since that is a circuitry feature. You can just run a second upfitter to the second input. Do you have a wiring diagram or product link?
